Aaron slid the key-card through a small machine in the door. A green light flashed, and the door opened with a high-pitched but quite beep. "Ugh, finally. Peace and quiet," Aaron muttered to himself. He pushed the door further open. It revealed a room with a door straight opposite the entrance.
A brown, leather sofa-bed was pushed right up towards the left wall, a New York City landscape hung above it. To the right was the kitchen which was like another room, but without the wall. So it was more like an alcove. It had a fridge mounted with a freezer, two cabinates, one holding a microwave and the other a blender, and a stove that sat under a circular shaped vent.
Aaron manouvered himself around the glass dining table and chairs that sat in the center of the room and through the door. This one revealed the bedroom. Across the left wall, a Queen sized bed, and two single beds were spread evenly, while the back wall was filled by a huge window. Finally, to the right was a door to the bathroom. He slipped around the beds and to the window, pulling a chord to open the blinds. He sighed in awe at the view. "You just can't get better then a top-floor view,". He flung himself back onto one of the single beds, there next to it was a remote. "I wander what you do". He pressed one button, turning on the main lights. He pressed another, and from the footer of the queen sized bed, a TV emerged, turning itself on. He pressed one more, it turned on the three lamps in the room that sat on top three of bed-side tables.
Suddenly, the TV clicked off, and the light and lamps all flickered until they dulled themselves. Aaron was left to the cold darkness of the night. The sun wasn't there to send a few rays to light up his room. It was just dark. He heard a spark sound, and the lights and TV were back again. "Weird,". He heard talking in the hallway and decided to investigate.
The room door wasn't fully shut, so he knew the lights had gone all through the hotel. In fact, he could tell by looking out the window that the lights had gone all over the island. He stuck his head out the door. In the hallway, there was a group of three teenages, probably 18 or 19.
One of them was a guy. He had an almost completely shaved head, lip piercing, and was wearing a red and white Nike tracksuit. A figure emerged from a room, staggering around. The tracksuit guy noticed the person too. He said, "Drunk fuck,". He and the two others snickered. That snickering didn't last long though. The mysterious figure lunged forward, taking a huge bite out of the guy in the tracksuit's face. "Aaaaah!" He screamed, falling limply to the ground.
"Holy shit!" Screamed one of the other two. it was a girl. She backed away from the figure, but the fallen guy in the tracksuit threw his hand out and caught her ankle. She squirmed to get away. The mysterious staggering person jumped onto the girl, ripping holes into her neck, while the tracksuit guy chomped away at her leg. She fainted, falling to the ground with a harsh thud.
Aaron said nothing, but his face showed everything. He backed into the Hotel room, slamming the door and locking it. There was a catch on the door that he also fastened. "HELP!" He screeched, but the only attention he drew to himself, was the attention of the three outside. They came banging on the door. "No! Noo!" He cried. He backed up into the bedroom, pushing the door shut. He ran to the window. "It-It's everywh-where," He stumbled on his words. In the light of a path-lamp he saw an elderly couple being attacked by a tropically dressed dancer. "Z-z-zombies,".
Erin lay in her bed, dreaming of the mysterious guy she had just met when all the lights went out. A few seconds passed and they were back. "Mom, what was that?" she shouted. No answer. "If this is your way of getting my back for that prank the other day, it's not working!". Still no answer. She giggled to herself before stepping up out of bed and over to the door. The door led to the main room of the cabin. "Eww," She whispered, covering her nose with her hands. A 3-person sofa sat in the middle of the room facing a paused TV. Across the TV was a hand print. A bloody hand print.
"Erin, what happened?" came a voice. Erin flinched. She turned to see her sister, Lana. She watched as lana noticed the hand-print on the TV. "Erin, what the fuck is going on here?" Lana asked, trembling.
"I-I don't, kn- Lana! Watch OUT!" she screamed. A crazed figure ran into the cabin and took a bite into Lana's neck. Lana screamed, but Erin could only watch helplessly as the blood poured from her sisters neck. Lana's eyes rolled around for a second, and then closed as she hit the floor. The figure screeched, before running at Erin. She quickly jumped back, slamming the door to her room perfectly in time to stun the creature. She held the door closed, while reaching for a chair that sat at a desk in her room. "Argh!" She screamed, straining her arms for the chair. "Got It,". She pulled the chair and wedged the handle with it. "That won't hold it!" She cried. She ran to her dresser, and pushed that up to the doorway. She rolled under her bed, trembling, she said, "Zombies. Im-p-possible!"
Aaron searched around the bathroom for something. Anything. A secret door. A vent into the next room. THUD. He knew all too well what that thud was. The door into the main room had been smashed open. He ran out into the bedroom and pushed the Queen sized bed over to the door. "Not today, Zombies!" he shouted. He returned back into the bathroom. Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Nail Clippers, Hairdryers were all there, and branded. But the logo was unfamiliar to Aaron. Banging started on the bedroom door, Aaron knew he had to act fast. He knelt, looking under the sink. So many pipes. "Aha!" He whispered, an idea shooting through his brain. He reached under and pulled a white pipe from the collection.
He returned once again to the bedroom. "It's now or never," He said to himself. Aaron Hale was not a killer. He didn't even like killing insects. But he knew what he saw out in the hallway was no special effects show. It was real. This was real. He pushed the bed slightly to the side and took a deep breath. He waited, staring at the door. Nothing was happening.
Seconds later, he decided to step forward. Too late. The tracksuit guy burst through the door, throwing his arms everywhere. He lent his head back, let out a deadly screech, and ran towards Aaron.
"Aaah!" he yelped, clentching his eyes shut. He held the pipe out infront of him as the zombie ran at him. He got Closer. Closer. Closer. Squish. Aaron opened his eyes. "Oh My-" He gagged, before turning his head away to be sick. Blood was spraying out of the zombie that was, as of now, impaled on the pipe. He shook the pipe and the zombie slid off, leaving its blood on the pipe. "That easy?". The other two were nowhere in sight.
Aaron stepped over the body in front of him, cautiously holding the pipe in his hands. He entered the main room, expecting a zombie to come running at him, or a celebrity to jump out and yell 'Gotcha!', but no. nothing. The silence of the room was soon broken by the screeching of the zombie regaining consciousness. "SHIT!" Aaron shouted. He dared turn around. No, Instead he ran for the door. The hallway was empty, and he could see the elevator right at the end. He made a run for it. He passed some rooms with doors open, some with blood-splattered doors. He stepped into the elevator, hesitating on what button to press. They went from G to 30. Down the corridor, he saw the tracksuit zombie emerge from his room. "Hell no!" He shouted, punching the G button. The door's weren't shutting. The zombie drew closer, Aaron hit the G button more. "Im so Stupid!" He said. He forgot that there was a button for closing the doors. He quickly pressed it and the doors closed. "Come on you bastard!" He cried, the zombie drawing closer. The zombie reached out, he almost had Aaron, but the elevator doors slammed shut, and the Zombies cries were no more then muffled noises. "Safe!" he whispered. "Or at least for now,".
