There's a dog park, not too far from the house, maybe a five-minute walk. Patting Zilly's head as we wandered toward our normal spot. The park was a grass-covered field with trees surrounding the perimeter, there were a couple of people; some with dogs and some without. As usual during the night, there are some sketchy looking groups of guys hanging around the edge of the park. Sighing I took G off his leash, letting him run off to go greet the other dogs.
Surprisingly, it took the herd of males awhile to realize I was by myself. I really didn't want to deal with them, letting a loud and quick whistle for Godzilla hoping he'd beat them to me. My normally gentle dog turned quiet vicious when unknown males came around me, something Hajime worked hard on him with.
"Hello," one started, he was cute but I would never give him the time of day let alone the night. Ignoring him, seemed to spur his interest. "Hello~ I'm talking to you." He purred. Ugh, Godzilla where are you, my eyes searched around for my dog only to see he was getting pets from a guy with blonde hair. Letting out another quick whistle his head snapped to me.
The group of guys was starting to surround me, a smile smirked made it to my face when I caught a glance of Zilla charging this way with the strange blonde man behind him. My eyes locked onto the leaders, "I suggest you step away from me before my dog decides to eat you."
They started to laugh, but stopped when a hand gripped the leader's shoulder, "She is talking about me."
The voice sounded so familar...maybe I've heard it at school before. His hand yanked the creepier away from me, now with him in full view I knew who he was. Kyotani "Mad Dog" Kentaro, he played volleyball with us for a while before he quit. He was, and probably still is, a damn good wing spiker but it was his anger that got the best of him.
Quickly pushing past the weirdos, I latched onto Kyotani-san's side to which his arm circled lightly around my waist. Godzilla moved in front of me, and started his deep and scary growling, forcing the group farther back.
"Ne, Ken-Kun," I purred looked up to him, I could feel the tenseness of the shock of me knowing his name as well as calling him by his first name. "I was worried you were gonna stand me up."
A soft, and barely noticeable, blush appeared on his cheeks. "Of course not," He looked down at me, "I would never stand my girlfriend up." His gaze then snapped back to the herd of males, specifically the leader. "I hope you all weren't harassing my girl, were you??" Kyotani's voice turned dark and deep as he glared down the males... I'm not gonna lie, I felt like I was in a Shojo Manga. The lead girl saved by the local bad boy, now all I need is him to start being protective to me after this and I'll be sold.
"O-o-of course not!!" the man squeaked shaking his head, "Simply making sure no weirdos bothered her."
Both Kyotani and I sweatdropped at the blatant lie, "Then I thank you," the blonde growled. Lightly squeezing my waist, he leads me past them. Once out of seeing distance, Kyotani-san let go of me.
"I'm sorry," his voice soft and he didn't, more like couldn't, look me in the eye.
"No, it's fine. Thank you but you didn't have to. As soon as Godzilla came over, I would have been fine." I answered stuffing my hands in my jean's pockets, the leash hanging out of my back pockets.
"You really think that your dog would have scared them off," He snapped, "No man is scared of a little poodle."
I laughed and snapped my fingers and pointed down by my side, Godzilla left the blonde's side and nuzzled into my legs. My eyes narrowed at my classmate, "Good thing I don't have a poodle."
Scratching Zil's ears, as I glared at the shocked looking male, but he quickly shook his head and glared back at me, "Well one way or another, you shouldn't be out at this time a night by yourself."
"Wow, Dad didn't know you cared!! Besides I'm not alone, Zilla would have eaten them. But he's was too engrossed with you to notice! What kind of guy just comes to a DOG park WITHOUT a DOG!!" my patience broke in two, it really did. You'd he think he was my father, scolding me on how I live my life. Save me or not, he had no right to starting in on me, it's not like I asked him to step in.
"Tch," the clicking of his tongue was all the answer I got. Pinching my nose to calm down, I closed my eyes and shook my head. He saved me from a bad situation, and I'm arguing with him.
Taking my hands out of their warm pockets, I bowed at a full 90 degrees. "Thank you for saving my ass back there Kyotani-san." my voice sounded tired and soft, there was no longer any anger and frustration in it, just a quiet sense of gratitude.
Straightening I looked into his light brown, almost amber colored, eyes as they widen in shock. Turned on my heel, I threw my hand back over my shoulder, waving slightly, as a good-bye.
"See ya, Kyotani-san." I continued walking home with Godzilla off his leash as he walked/trotted circles around me.
"Oi!!" I heard him yell behind me, tilting my head slightly back at him, "Who are you?!"
My dark grin flashed over my shoulder, startling the poor guy. I could feel it, the excitement of it. Oh, how I was going to enjoy this. Boys, can't stand being left hanging and with him being the Lone Wolf he is, he won't ask anyone. Yes, I can't wait for him to start the hunt only to find out that I'm not a prey no...I've always been the predator.
Deciding to ignore him as I continued toward home, I could hear him cuss in the distance from the frustration. So I guess I'll take it back, not a Shojo more like Shoujen Jump; a story of a girl who refuses to be just another cliche story, she's willing to fight for her family, pushing through her pain for her brothers, and most of all... being such a badass that they editors can't keep up with their sensors.
Scratching G behind his ear, I chuckled to myself, "I'm such a weirdo," Zil chuffed in agreement, "But I'm okay with that, what fun is it being normal when all the cool people are weird." I stated staring straight ahead.
