"Are you sure? It looks like you have a fever again." Chancing a glance in his direction, only to look away again and hold my nose tighter."O-of it's a fever! I've been running for my life all morning. You try out running Nii-san!! He's a beast!"
'You idiot!!' I panicked to myself, 'Why the hell did you have to stutter?!' Taking a few deep breathes in hopes of calming myself down.
"Oh, Umeji!!!" Tensing at the voice of my pursuer, "Come out now and I won't tell your big secret!!"
"Mother fucker," I growled under my breath...he wouldn't right? I mean he's mean but not that mean.
"I'll count to five before everyone here get to know what your big-" I didn't let his finish running out of my hiding. Missing the look of confusion on the Mad Dog's face.
"You can stop now. I will be taking my punishment like a man." I sighed walking into Hajime's arms reach bracing myself for the wrestling that was most likely to happen.
"Come on Senpai you wouldn't hurt my poor little Ume, right?" a calm voice asked stepping closer.
Happy tears filled my eyes, "Hubby!! I knew you won't let me suffer!!" I went to tackle him in a hug but he sidestepped out of the way, letting me crash onto the floor.
"Yahaba choose your next words carefully...She will suffer, one way or another."
"And she will but you shouldn't make her run," he looked over his shoulder where I was glaring at him. "Her knees will be hurting within the next couple of minutes...she'll suffer cause I won't be helping her hobble about."
My once happy tears turned to waterfalls of sadness, "You're an ass," I whimpered.
"I know," He smiles, "It's what you get for not answering your phone the other night when I needed help with Math."
"I helped you when I got to school!!" I yelled pointing angrily at the ash blonde.
"You said all I had to do was call and you'd answer. Just making sure you'll stay true to your word."
"I want a divorce."
"No," He then turned and headed back toward our class.
I held my hand up to Aniki, hoping he'd at least help me up knowing I'd just hurt myself if I tried to by myself.
He glared at my hand, "Take it back and I'll call off the assault."
"There's nothing wrong with having a Bromance with your setter. I mean you guys have been friends for years and I'm sure that Sei and Maki have a bromance. I mean they change uniforms all the time..." he started to walk away. "Nii-san!!" he stopped.
"I know I what I said was wrong..." he turned back toward me, and I tried...really I did. I wanted to stop but my smartassness can't be contained. "But that doesn't mean it's not true."
He threw his hands up in the air in frustration, and stomped away. Chuckling I closed my eyes, leaning my head back onto the wall steeling myself for the pain that would be coming as I forced myself onto my knees from this angle. Taking a deep breathe I opened my eyes ready for it, but a hand in front of me stopped my train of thoughts.
"Come on." The deep growl of his voice snapped me back to reality. Smiling I shook my head and placed my smaller one in his large rough hand. I liked the way his dwarfed my own, it made me feel safe and comforted.
With a light tug, I was up on my feet looking up to his cocerned eyes.
"Why do I feel like I'm always asking if you're okay?"
Smirking, "Cause I'm always broken." I shot him a small smile, "Thanks."
Huffing he looked off to the side not making eye contact, "Whatever."
I shifted my weight back and forth on my knees....they didn't like that at all. I could feel my knee give, so on instinct alone. My hand latched onto Kentaro's forarms in hopes to steady myself.
"Sorry," I whispered looking down. Forcing the pain down I glanced back up to him with a forced smile, "Would you believe me if I told you that you just make me weak in the knees?"
"No." I've been hearing that a lot this morning. "Are your knees always this bad?"
"Nah, they just don't like me running alot. And like I said out running Hajime-Nii is hard for a normal person. But seeing how I'm broken it takes a tole on my poor knees."
"How'd you hurt them?" his voice was soft.
"I got hit by a car when I was little, my knees took most of the hit. Doctors said that my knees would never be the same. But before you start the pity party, I'll have you know that I wouldn't change what happen to me."
"Why?" his eyebrows pulled together in confusion.
"Cause without it I wouldn't be who I am today. Bad things happen to Good people every day. But it how we make the best of the situtation that makes us the Best People."
That was cheesy as all get out. But it was true without my accident I wouldn't be who I am. Neither would Hajime or even Mom. That day changed all of our lives...for the better.
Shaking the depressing thoughts from my head, I looked back to the golden brown eyes that always seemed to suck me in.
"Mind walking me to class?" a soft blush seemed to think that it was wanted and when I went to hide said blush, Kyotani lightly grabbed my hand keeping me from hiding behind it.
"Sure," keeping hold of said hand he slowly pulled me toward the second year floor.
Sadly neither of the two second years noticed the herd of volleyball players that were "hiding" around the corner. Where the Twin Towers were holding a very angry brother who wanted nothing more than tear off the male's hand. Where the first years were consoling a crying Yahaba Shigeru who wanted to apologize to his best friend. Where the mastermind chuckled evilly watching his plan slowly unfold.
