Me and Hobi kept chatting for the rest of class, close to five minutes before the bell.
"So you're not staying here all year?" I looked up from putting my binder away.
The Beta shook his head. "No, my mom sent me here to collect info from all of my classes." He paused to zip up his backpack. "I'm homeschooled." He sat back in his chair.
"So you're going back home after today?" I turned in my seat to face him.
He nodded. "Yeah, gotta take care of my little sister." He cut himself off and turned away sharply.
"Is something wrong?" I reached out to touch his shoulder but he brushed my hand away.
"Everything's fine." He deadpanned.
Before I could get another word out, the bell for 2nd block rang and Hobi was out the door. I sighed and slung my bag over my shoulder as I trudged out the door and into the crowded hall.

Lunch Time
I slid down against the tree in the courtyard, Kook laid down in my lap. I ran my fingers through his hair and gazed down at him lovingly.
Kook looked up at me with loving eyes and a bright smile. "I love you." He whispered.
I smiled back. "I love you too." I leaned in and planted a kiss on his nose. I leaned back against the tree and gazed off into the distance. "Hey Kookie?"
"Yeah Tae?" He sat up and sat himself in my lap.
"Do you have a knife?" I locked eye contact with him for a moment, until he was flustered enough to look away.
"Yeah, hold on." He leaned over and grabbed his back, from which he produced a little pocket knife. He turned back to me and dropped it in my hand. "What do you need it for?"
"You'll see." I slowly got up and squatted down in front of the tree.
Two minutes later, there was a heart carved into the bark of the tree. I used the tip to carve in KTH + JJK in the middle of the heart.
The bell rang through the courtyard, signaling us to head to 3rd block, so me and Kook stood up and walked away with hands held.
