Everything was bright. My consciousness floated back slowly and I could slowly start making out different voices in the room around me.

I let out an audible groan as someone moved my left arm.

"Jungkook?" Taehyung's voice appeared by my side instantly. His hand cupped my face as my eyes fluttered open.

"W-where am I?" I slowly looked around as my eyes adjusted to the bright light.

"Jungkook, you're in the hospital." Tae rested his hand on top of my head. "You were stabbed in the shoulder, cut a main artery." He glanced away briefly. "You passed out right in front of my house, screaming for help."

Tae jumped up when the door creaked open. A man in a black suit poked his head through the door. "Is he awake?" Tae nodded and went and sat in a chair next to the hospital bed. The man nodded and stepped in the door, closing it behind him.

"Hello Jungkook, I'm Sergent Jisung." He pulled up a chair and sat next to me. "Can you tell me what happened?"

I nodded and explained to the Sargent what had happened, but I left the part out about me wanting to kill Eliza.

Twenty minutes later and I'm out of the hospital, Mr Namjoon was able to get me discharged early because he said I was "A strong Beta and a fighter."

Taehyung helped me out of the car when we pulled up to his house. "You sure you don't mind me staying the night here? I could always go back home-"

"I don't think that would be smart." Joon cut in. "The police have deemed it a crime scene."

Me and Tae just looked at each other. He shrugged, "I guess it would be safer if you stayed the night here, Yoongi and Jimin hyung are spending the weekend and will be here tomorrow." His adorable box smile just threw my worries out the door.

"You'll be safe here."

Even after the breakup, he's still nice to me. I guess our friendship never died in the course of our relationship.

I'm glad I can still be with him, even if he marries someone else.

I'll be able to protect him in the best way I can,

By being there for him when he needs me.
