Jimmy's POV

What am I even doing here?

I'm walking down the hallway, a bouquet of flowers in my hand when I see her back. She's surrounded by a few people, a little boy, and Sailor, clinging to her neck like a spider monkey.

I didn't even know if this was the right hospital, I kind of just went with my gut instinct. How bad this would've been if they weren't here.

I called Gloria right before I went on to tape the show, pretty much begging her to go relieve Mia. Seeing her as upset as she was this morning, it was the least I can do. Then I was just going to go home. But, after getting in the car, I found myself driving to the nearest hospital, picking up some flowers from the gift shop, and making my way to the Maternity ward.

I feel my shoulders start to relax when I see her.

A dark-haired man nudges her to turn around, and we lock eyes. I feel my lips turn up into a grin, I didn't even have to try. I just... did. I give her a little wave. I watch her put Sailor down and walk towards me.

"Um, hi?" She says it weird, almost caught off guard. Which, I don't blame her for.

"Hi."

"What...?" Her hand goes to her pearl necklace, I watch as she takes the pearl and rubs it between her index and thumb finger. "Sorry, I just... didn't expect to see you here."

"I'm sorry about that... I just felt bad, about this morning." Her eyes drift to the flowers in my hand. "I didn't want to come empty-handed." I hand her the flowers, well, hand is a generous term. I basically shove them at her. She staggers for a moment but smiles anyway.

With the formal introductions out of the way, we enter into an uncomfortable silence. I look down at my shoes, my show shoes, no less, while she shifts her weight from side to side.

"How is your sister?" I say at the exact same time she says "How was the show?"

"You first."

"Okay... Um, Resa is okay. My brother should be out soon to tell us, you know?"

"It's agony." I'm met with a high eyebrow arch. "Oh, the waiting. When my girls were born, my..." I stop short in my tracks, giving my self a few seconds for my heart to slow down. I've talked about her too much today to say anything else. "It was hard, the nerves. Winnie even had a few complications."

"You could never tell now," Mia says.

"Of course not."

"Hey," I lift my head to look at her. She looks so tired. "Thank you, again, for letting Sailor come with me this morning... It, uh, really means a lot."

"Oh, it's not a problem for me. I'm sure Winnie loved having someone to annoy."

"Vice versa with Sailor. I forgot how young she is, sometimes." At that, she turns to look at the group behind her. I peek my head past to get a look. Sailor sits on the floor with the young boy, a man sits above them as he tries to guide them through a game that they're playing on the floor. Across the way, an older man and woman lean against each other, the woman knits while the man looks our way. His hair has since gone grey, but something tells me that this guy gave Mia and Sailor their red hair. Mia watches them all with intensity.

I think it's about time for me to go.

"Hey," she turns back to me just as I open my mouth to say that I'm leaving. "If you'd like, you can come sit with us for a little while... Hunter should be out any minute. I'm sure Mom and Dad would love to meet you. Oh, and Park has always been interested in how to run a TV show. Jonah too, he loves listening to Hunter talk about work. Maybe you could give them a second perspective?"
