Mia's POV

"I got it!" I say as I round the corner to the kitchen. "I got it Resa!" Resa and Sailor sit at the kitchen table, Resa typing away on her computer, and Sailor plowing though a ham and cheese sandwich.

"Oh Mia that's great! When do you start?"

"Monday. He told me that I didn't have to dress like a politician."

"Sounds like a comedian. Did he say he knew Hunter?"

"No. He didn't ask that much. I was probably a last resort, given the people who came in before me. I talked to Keith."

"You saw Uncle Keith?" Sailor asks. She loves Keith.

"I did. He misses you. He asked if we wanted to go to dinner. I told him no."

"What! Why?"

"I'm just kidding Sailboat. Next Friday."

"Yay."

"When will Hunter be home for lunch?"

"About one, why, what's up?"

"Wanna hit up Cheesecake Factory? Don't worry, I'll pay."

"Well." She says, patting her stomach. "The baby may appreciate some good chocolate cheesecake."

"Okay Res. Sails? Can you go get your coat?"

"Yay! Cheesecake!" She exclaims, running off.
_________

So that was Friday. Saturday and Sunday were spent as they usually are. Saturday me and Sailor hit up the bookstores, like we always used to, and Sunday we spent the day in the park with Hunter and Resa and Jonah.

"The stock market went up again." Hunter says next to me. We sit on a bench in Central Park, and might I say it, freezing our asses off. Jonah and Sailor, supervised by Resa, are playing in the snow, along with all the other kids that use Central Park as their backyard.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah." He says, flipping over to the next page in the newspaper.

"Jeb used to invest in the stock market a lot."

"Mia, I didn't mean-"

"I'm fine." I say, smiling at him. "I really am. It just reminded me of him, that's all."

"So how's Keith?" He asks, eager to switch the subject before I sink into a memory hole that I wouldn't be able to dig myself out of.

"Well. He's good. I haven't seen him in about, oh, two years or so, but Jeb and Sailor saw him before that. He's good. Karen and the kids are great."

"Excited about the job?"

"Yeah. Yeah I guess I am. I'm ready to move on, get out of your guys place."

"I thought we were good hosts?" He asks, pretending to be shocked. I laugh, lightly slapping his shoulder.

"You know I love you guys. But it's time for Sails and I to get out on our own. Besides, soon Resa's going to be having that baby, and I know you don't want us around for that, no matter how much you fake smile about it."

"Thanks sis." He says, smiling, although I detect some sarcasm. We sit in silence, my brother and I, watching our two kids play together. "Remember when we used to play like that?" The kids are playing nicely, it looks like they're trying to dig a hole.

"Us? I don't believe we ever played as nicely as they are. We'd dig the hole, but then you would push me into it, and throw snow on me, and then you'd run to Colton and Parker and have them also throw snow on me."
