Once I was a seed
Germination took place in me
I grew into a small plant
Protection granted by the parents who loved me
As I grew taller, stronger,
Life was sucking out of my protectors
Bit by bit
White leaves
Shriveled stems
Dying roots
It was my turn to protect them.
Then they left their services to me
With one last gift from them
Decomposition took it's toll on my protectors
And I grew taller with the added nutrition. Now that I'm tall enough,
Big enough
I will be able to live alone without loving parents
But who can survive without love?
And with a moment's mistake
I am gone
As fertiliser for another seed beside me,
And I leave my other half to guard"He's not even germinated yet."
