Slurred words,

Drunken texts,

A swig of whiskey,

Hobbling to the ocean dock,

Ocean roars,

Tide slapping the rocks,

An angel dies tonight,

Every thought,

Every mistake,

They all come running back to me.

One step forward,

Another memory back,

One day you'll realize,

What we had,

You were the reason,

The reason I didn't sleep,

Another drink.

A step closer,

You threw my heart,

Right out the door,

Now chugging to the bottom,

Let me drink it away,

Our old story,

You were my wishing flower,

And now I'm blowing you away,

My throat,

Joins the fire,

Throwing the empty bottle aside,

Stepping up to the cliff,

One foot after another,

Walking in a straight line,

Not really my style,

Since I'm wasted,

I remember,

Taking my last steps,

Now we walk together,

I was always a few paces behind,

But now,

Last step,

I'm 150 paces in front,

Whiskey burning its way back up my throat,

Down I go,

Blood sprayed rocks,

Water still,

Red,

Now I'm 1,000 paces below.
