A year later....

Maymay glanced down at her wristwatch anxiously.

"Haynako Edwardo nasa'n ka na ba?"

She has been waiting for him for almost an hour now and had actually finished two mugs of hot chocolate while doing so but still, there isn't any sign of him seen there at Cafe Maroon; their favorite meeting and dating place.

Earlier that day, Edward asked her to meet up for merienda since he couldn't make it for lunch because of his company emergency. He specifically told her to not to be late bacause he has something important to tell her but look who's being late now?

She sighed irritatedly. She too has something important to tell him. But she is not quite sure how well he would take it so she's feeling a bit nervous about it. And every minute of waiting is making her feel more and more of it somehow.

She grabbed her cellphone and pressed the turn on button. But after several tries and still to no avail, she just shoved it back to the table.

Bakit ba kasi sa dinami-dami ng araw ngayon pa nahulog yung cellphone ko sa kanal? Argh!

Her cellphone accidentally fell from her pocket when she helped a Lola pick up her fallen goods on the streets earlier on her way to the cafe. That's the reason why she couldn't contact Edward now.

"Haynako. That's it! One more minute and I'm done." She mused in annoyance.

She had enough. Her stomach is already starting to feel awful as well and she can't even tell whether it's because of hunger or what.

Two mugs of hot chocolate are definitely not a good idea. She shook her head in regret.

Lately she has been overly sensitive over a lot of things that most of the time, she became totally unreasonable she admits. But despite that, Edward was always kind and understanding regarding her mood swings and she's really thankful for that. She just hopes that that kind of attitude stretch for today as well.

Five minutes has passed but still no Edward so she just decided to leave then. She rose from her seat and was about to leave already when all of a sudden, someone hugged her from behind.

She doesn't need look to know who it was. His smell, the way those arms felt around her and his very presence are more than enough reasons to tell.

"You're awfully late." She told him flatly. Not bothering to mum her irritation.

Edward buried his face on the nook of her neck.

"Sorry na." He purred affectionately. "That stressful meeting ran unbelievably late and I couldn't contact your phone as well. I got so worried that I drove like a maniac just to get here asap. I'm glad your ok though."

With that she turned to face him. Her anger quickly switched to worry with what he said.

"What?! Are you ok? Did you get into an accident?" She blurted then started to thoroughly check him out.

He chuckled. "Don't worry, I'm fine love. I didn't get into an accident either so calm down."

She sighed in relief. "Thank goodness."

"You're not mad anymore?" He winked.

She rolled his eyes. "Che!"

Which he only replied with a bark of laughter.

"Tara na nga kain na tayo." She told him afterwards. "Kanina lang parang nasusuka na ako sa two mugs ba na naman na hot chocolate na naubos ko dito pero ngayon parang bigla naman akong nagutom."
