It has been days since they met again and true to his words, Edward didn't say a single word related to the events that transpired in Ilocos. And although Maymay is relieved by it, she can't help but feel worried as well because her boss seemingly turned into a whole new person after. Totally gone was the warm and smiley Ed that she met that night in Pagudpud.

She sighed and turned back to her computer. She needs to stop this nonsense and focus on her work instead. This is what she wanted in the first place and she should be thankful that he's doing her a favor.

"Ms. Entrata." Edward, whom she didn't notice arrived at her table, called.

"Ay kabayo!" She blurted in surprise.

His eyes narrowed. "Kanina pa kita tinatawag."

"Uhm ah...eh...sorry sir. Ano po iyon?" She nervously flipped through some random papers on her table. "Kelangan niyo na po ba yung papers from Mr. Montecarlo?"

But he didn't respond. Instead he asked, "Is there something wrong? Are you feeling alright?"

Maymay thought that it could just be her imagination but did his face and tone softened a little with that question?

She chuckled nervously. "Wala, wala sir. Masyado lang ako na-focus dito aa worksheets kaya hindi ko kayo napan......."

But she wasn't able to finish what she's saying though because a gasp suddenly came out from her lips when out of the blue, her boss leaned closer and touched his hand to her forehead.

"Your temperature seemed to be normal." He uttered more like to himself before removing his hand. "Is work stressing you that much?" Then he followed, seemingly in an even gentler manner this time.

She lifted her head and their eyes met. "Uh I......." She tried to answer but she wasn't sure what to say.

For who knows how long both of them just looked into each others eyes, unmoving still. Until he sighed and leaned away, putting back some professional distance in between them.

On that moment she was able to finally release the breath that she was completely unaware she's been holding.

"Sorry. That was out of line." He mused. Back is the formal tone again. "If you're not feeling well, just take the rest of the day off already. I'll see you tomorrow then." He added then turned around to leave.

But then Maymay, who couldn't even understand her own actions, just suddenly stood and grabbed the hem of his coat.

He halted then pivoted to face her again. Now both shock and confusion are written all over his handsome face.

"Ah...I." She started, not entirely sure what she wanted to do or say to him though.

And then out of nowhere a familiar music started playing in air.

Her eyes widened as she realized what happened then quickly grabbed her phone and pressed the reject key before Ed Sheeran could even start singing.

"Sorry I forgot to silence it." She apologized, wincing inwardly in shame at the same time.

She waited for his reply but when she didn't get any, she decided to look up into his face again, only to see his amusement laid and grinning face. With that a frown formed on her forehead.

"What?" She spat, suddenly feeling irritated at being clueless.

"You really like that song huh?" He suggested.

"Huh?" She responded, still not getting what he was trying to say.

"Your ringtone. It's still the same. You didn't change it." He clarified.
