Chapter 7 - Best Friend Date

I wake up with my phone ringing none stop, i open my eyes slightly and look at my phone to see Ryder's name "Hello?" I say with a raspy voice from just waking up "where have you been?" He asks confused "Um sleeping" I say and he chuckles "It's 1 pm, we were meant to go get coffee at 12" Ryder says and my eyes widen "Oh shit, okay i will be ready in about 30 minutes" I say and Ryder chuckles 

"Okay i'm downstairs" He says and my eyes widen again "You are?" I ask "Yupp now hurry" He says and hangs up, i have a quick shower and get dressed into something quick

(without the beanie and adding my typical leather jacket) I look into the mirror and shrug barely recognising the fact that i look extremely short because i'm not wearing my usual high heels. I walk down the stairs and get frowns by both my brother and Ryder "What?" I ask "You are dressed simple" Rick says and i shrug

"I like this outfit, it's not something i'm used to" I say and they chuckle "Well i like it" Ryder says and i smile "We're going out for coffee Rick, we will see you later" I say and walk out with Ryder "You look good" He says and i smile "I never usually wear clothes normal teenagers wear, i thought i would wear something different today" I say and Ryder smiles 

I hop on his motorbike after him and put my helmet on before he speeds off, after we get to Starbucks and other our usual frappe's we sit down with Ryder in front of me on the opposite end of the table "I was thinking maybe you and me could go on a date together, we have never really done that" Ryder says "That's because we aren't actually" I whisper and he chuckles 

"Let's make this a friend date, i will take my best friend out on a best friend date to her favourite restaurant to say thank you for being here for me" Ryder says and i smile "That does sound quite nice" I say and he smile "But to everyone it will be a relationship date, this is our dirty little secret" Ryder whispers and i chuckle

I get dressed for our best friend date and look into the mirror 

I smile at the result and look at my heels, this is a lot more like me. i take a deep breath and smile before walking down the stairs to meet Ryder at the couch "You look beautiful" Ryder says and i smile "A lot more like yourself" He says looking at my heels, my heels make me slightly shorter than him, my usual height i hit his shoulder with the heels I'm at eye height 

"Shall we go?" He asks and i nod, we get outside and i see a brand new range rover

 "Is that yours?" i ask and he smiles "You bought her?" I ask and he smirks but nods "I was able to save up enough to buy her and i wanted to ride her for the first time with your presence my beautiful best friend" Ryder says and i smile 

We get in and the smile remains on my face "She's beautiful, not as beautiful as baby but goddamn" I say and he chuckles "Your Chevy will forever be your baby" Ryder says and i shrug, it's true i fell in love with her at first sight

Flashback

"Come here dear i have found us a new hobby that doesn't require us having to go all the way to my garage for" My dad says and i raise my eyebrows, my dad is a mechanic and he has always took me to the garage to help him build up and fix the cars with him ever since i learnt to talk

"What is it dad?" I ask and he smiles before bringing me into our little garage and motioning over to the covered car "No way" I say with a smile, my 15 year old self feeling my heart beat faster and faster, cars are my life and always has been every since my dad introduced me to his first car

He uncovers the car to reveal a beat up 67 chevy impala just like the one i fell in love with in supernatural "No way dad" I say and hug him tight before running to her "Well i looked and looked and i finally found her, she beat up and doesn't run which is why i bought her so we can build her up again" My dad says and smiles

"Happy birthday my princess" My dad says and i smile "Thank you dad"

End of flashback 

"What you thinking about?" Ryder asks and i smile "For my 16th birthday my dad brought that beauty home for me and him to rebuild, she was all beat up and didn't even run, we worked on her until the accident" I say and sigh "I stopped working on her after that and only started again the day Jackson broke up with me" I say 

"One thing good out of that break up was he got you to start that again" Ryder says and i smile "Another good thing? Revenge gave me one hell of a best friend" I say as Ryder parks the car

We get our table and order our food "You know i actually never really hated you" Ryder admits and i look up from my drink in shock "What?" I ask "I knew i fucked up and i hated myself for it, but i wanted you to hate me harder so i would learn from my mistake. I should have never got you into that situation, i knew you were bad and i only made things worse" Ryder says and i put my hand over his

"Ryder that was different times, we both fucked up and fucked each other over. I forgave you for that and i meant it" I say and he looks at me with still with a hint of sadness in his eyes, i rest my hand on his cheek and he leans on it slightly "I promise you it's okay" I say and he smiles 

The date was us two laughing about and having fun

Ryder drives me home and looks into my eyes "Thank you for taking me out today" I say and he smiles "What are best friends for" He says with a smile before kissing my cheek "I'll see you tomorrow ?" He says and i nod with a smile before getting out the car and going to my porch, i turn around and watch Ryder drive away before walking into my house

I walk to my room and smile before dropping on my bed, today was a very good day
