I give myself one last look in the mirror and walk downstairs, Rick is nowhere to be seen but I do find a note of the counter " good morning jellybean, work needed me for the early shift today. Have a good day at school, if you don't feel good feel free to head back home. I'll see you at dinner, I love you" I chuckle at his little note and grab my car keys
I head to school and park at my usual parking space, I look around and thankfully Ryder was nowhere to be seen. I get out my car and make my way to my locker so i can get some books, i take a deep breath as i start to feel a little anxious. I look into my locker and see a not that i didn't realise was there
Hey Scar, I know you don't want to see me or talk to me but i miss you so much. You are my best friend and in my head maybe even more but i fucked it up so bad and god i will always regret every bit of it. I take a deep breath and just scrunch the paper before throwing it back into my locker, i am not letting anyone ruin my day. I close my locker and see Jackson "Looking good with the new hair" Jackson says smiling "I thought i told you to leave me alone" I say rolling my eyes "Scar come on, give me a chance " Jackson says and i chuckle "A chance? You had you chance before you went and screwed it up by fucking some other bitch, so you want a chance? Well not in this lifetime" I say and walk away
As i walk to my lessons i can hear a few comments 'looking good Scar' 'love the new hair', i place a smile on my face and refuse to put my guard down, so far so good. I sit down on my usual table at the back and like usual watch the class start to fill up "Class we have a student that has moved into this new class due to his grades getting much much better" The teacher says but honestly i don't care except for the fact that all seats in this class are taken except the one next to me "Guys welcome Ryder"The teacher says and my eyes widen
I look up and he smiles "Go have a seat next to Scarlet" The teacher says and i shake my head "No no and no, remember what happened last time you put someone to sit next to me?" I ask, i might have put the girls book on fire because she pissed me off "Scarlet there is nowhere else for Ryder to sit, be polite" She says and i roll my eyes and sit back down, Ryder makes his way over to me and i just ignore him
"This was the only way to come close to you, we need to talk" Ryder says and i look over at him "Do you know what happened to the last person who sat next to me and pissed me off? I set their book on fire, you talk to me and your book isn't going to be the only thing getting set on fire" I warn him looking him up and down "Trust me" I say seriously and he nods
He writes something down and passes it to me 'How about notes?' I roll my eyes and grab the note before reaching into my pocket and taking out a lighter, i give him a fake smile and set the note on fire "Scarlet put that out right now" The teacher say and i grab the note and scrunch it up ignoring the burning sensation and honestly kind of enjoying it, meaning that the longer i stay mad the closer i get to the heartless Scarlet i once was.
I turn around and look at my book before i start to doodle on it trying to distract myself.
.. After school
I head over to my car and quickly get in, i look down at my hand and the slight burn bubble that formed on the palm of my hand. I grab the steering wheel firmly and let out a small wince of pain, still not letting go. I drive home and just walk in, Rick is still not home from work. I walk over to the kitchen and open the cupboard, i see a bottle of Jack Daniels and smirk, "fuck it" I say before grabbing it, i head to my room and start blasting out music
I open the bottle and take a sip, cringing at the bitter taste but liking the burning sensation. 'sweet by psycho' comes on and i start singing and jumping around, taking long sips of the bottle "OH SHE'S SWEET BUT A PSYCHO A LITTLE BIT PSYCHO" i scream stumbling around and mumbling my words
Several songs pass and i sit on the floor crying my eyes out and drunk, the bottle is almost drained at this point when 'take on the world comes on' i look at my phone and see that it's 7pm, the talent show is on. I get up and walk to the bathroom, i wash my face and apply some makeup, the cold water had already started to sober me
I run down the stairs and straight to my car, i drive quickly to the school and take a deep breath as i park my car. Wait what am i doing, he doesn't deserve to talk to me, i take another deep breath and suck it up "Fuck it i am doing this" I say and get out my car, i run through the corridors until i reach the doors that lead to the hall
I open the doors and Ryder is sitting at a piano on stage singing ' take on the world' "And nobody knows you, the way that I know you. Look in my eyes, I will never desert you. And just say the word, we'll take on the world, we'll take on the world" Ryder sings his heart out "That was for you Scar" Ryder says into the microphone while locking eyes with me
I walk towards the stage my eyes never leaving Ryder's, i walk up to the stage and go towards Ryder "Scar i-" I cut him off by kissing him passionately before the halls erupt with claps, i look into his eyes and smile "Scarlet i love you" Ryder whispers and i smile "I love you Ryder" I whisper back and he pulls me into another kiss, i look into his eyes one more time "I can't live without you Scarlet" He says and hesitates to say something but shakes it off
"Will you marry me?" Ryder says before getting on his knees and pulling out a ring "Ryder" I say surprised "Yes" I whisper to him and he gets up before picking me up an d spinning me around
And that was the story of how my fake lover not only became my real lover but became my fiance who i can't wait to spend the rest of my life with.
