Emma P.O.V.
Each day it gets harder to sleep. Either because I keep waking up at night or I simply can't fall asleep. I wish I could say that my insomnia was new, but it really wasn't.
I slowly got up from my bed and walked towards the closet. I had to get ready for school. I quickly opened my closet door and pulled out a simple outfit which consisted of a white shirt, skinny black jeans, and a CalArts hoodie. Once I had changed into my outfit I quickly walked into my bathroom and quickly did my business.
As always I took an extra second looking into the mirror. Not because I thought I looked cute or anything like that. It's just every time I stare at my silver hair I feel like an outcast. Even more than the outcast I already am.
Not only was I in the werewolf pack with fewer humans, but my family consisted on mostly werewolves too. I wish I could go back in time and leave while I could. Runaway, find another family.
Everything changed when I only 9 years old. The world changed. It all started when the government started to investigate suspicious crimes. Then they found out, vampires, as soon as they were revealed and made public werewolves came out too. I thought I was safe until my family cracked.
I had seen the terrible things werewolves and vampires had done. It had all been displayed on tv for us humans to hide. Especially after a vampire claimed the presidents daughter Mariam as his beloved and a werewolf fought for her claiming she was his mate. Apparently, it was common for a human to have a werewolf and a vampire as soulmates. They took her away from her father.
As soon as my parents found out what I was seeing on the tv they got rid of it. Eventually buying a new one after both vampires and werewolves had completely taken over. But I had seen them for what they really were.
Then as brilliant as my dad is, he decided to tell me the truth. He was a werewolf, and so were my brothers. I became scared. I couldn't believe the fact that my older brothers, the triplets were monsters. My mom told me she was human, and even though the werewolf gene was stronger than the human one for a strange reason I was human.
"Come have breakfast!" My mom yelled from downstairs snapping me out of my trance.
I left my room and went downstairs while holding my backpack on my right shoulder.
I walked into the kitchen and saw that the whole family was there. The triplets were sitting together and right next to them was my dad. While my mom was standing up placing pancake butter on the pan. I didn't look like part of the family except for the fact that I had the same light blue eyes as my dad and the triplets. Two of the triplets, Tyler and Eric had black hair like my dad while Alex had his hair tone a little lighter. None of us really looked like mom thanks to my dad having the dominant genes especially since he was the beta of the pack.
"Hey mom," I said.
She served my pancakes and then proceeded to serve the others.
"Hey Ems," Tyler said smiling.
I just nodded and started eating while checking Instagram on my iPhone. I can't even talk to him. In fact, I can't talk to any of them. Not only do they scare me but they are monsters.
I could feel everyone staring at me.
"Goodmorning sweetie," my dad said and I ignored him making his smile disappeared.
I just sat there and ate. They will always be monsters.
"Mom Victoria is giving me a ride today," I stated.
My dad and brothers growled and my mom look down and my nervously. They hated Victoria because she had been about 8 times in the dungeon. She hated, I mean hated werewolves and she wasn't afraid to curse in their faces or to slap them and like that.
