"Wow," Dex said sarcastically, "I'm terrified."
"Ha, ha very funny," was Keefe's response. He clearly wasn't in a mood to joke around today, which was odd considering he was usually in a mood to joke around. That is until you took into account what happened, and although Dex couldn't tell what he'd said, he seemed to understand enough.
Needless to say Keefe... wasn't quite himself today. At least not physically. You see, Sophie had lead the group, once again, into another mess involving the Neverseen, only this time things didn't quite go as planned. For both parties.
Things ended up with a meowing, surprisingly tiny Keefe after he'd been hit with some sort of potion that was supposed to boil his brains. Keefe Sencen had instead, been turned into a cat.
Oh, and the thing that had Dexter so utterly terrified? Keefe growled in an attempt to tell Dex he'd better hurry up with the antidote.
"I'm working on it." Dex mumbled shooting Keefe a glare.
"Yeah, working. I can totally tell. You know what? I bet life as a cat is better anyways, and you suck Dizznee. It's been a day and a half, AND I'M HUNGRY."
Dex rolled his eyes at his noisy companion before picking him up and setting him in his lap. "There, now your short cat self can see what's happening and how close I am every two seconds! Gosh, you're so annoying as a cat. It's making me realize how much you talk."
Keefe growled again as he tried to get comfortable sitting in Dex's lap. Dex didn't care in the slightest that he was being growled and meowed at. All he wanted was to finish this antidote so he could sleep without waking up to fur in his face from Keefe's shedding again.
"I'm still hungry..."
.-.
"Keefe!"
Keefe awoke to Dex shaking him. After Dex had continued to fail with making an cure for the boy after hours and hours of testing, the two had decided to call it a day and head to bed.
Keefe had taken up the entire end of the bed, if you're wondering. Dex had insisted on it.
"Meow.." Keefe responded, not caring what he said, figuring Dex wouldn't be able to understand him anyways.
The technopath rolled his eyes. "Yeah, uh, still don't speak cat, but Sophie offered to have you over at her house today since she can actually understand you."
Keefe gave Dex the stink eye before putting his furry face back into his paws. The first time Sophie had seen him the way he was it was humiliating, even worse than having to scratch his itchy cheeks on everything and have everyone "Awww" every single time.
Not to mention, he couldn't even make good jokes as a cat! He was taken even less seriously than he was before and whatever would he do if he couldn't bug and flirt with Foster?
"So you don't wanna go see Sophie today?" Dex asked, raising an eyebrow.
Keefe only looked away.
"Fine, suit yourself. Now I'm gonna go get breakfast, are you gonna come with me for that or not."
Even though he wasn't entirely in the mood for the triplets to 'pet' him again, Keefe begrudgingly stood into a stretch.
Dex shook his head as he headed for the door, opening it and letting Keefe out first.
The two walked down the gorgeous blue halls in silence until the reached the stairs to go down to the kitchen.
"By the way, Keefe," Dex said casually, "I'm gonna put a hold on making the antidote- hold on!"
