Stan's nimble fingers quickly danced across the keyboard to type back a response.

No, wait a minute, you'll seem too desperate!

You don't wanna scare them away with your eagerness do you?

Stan shook off his internal argument and read over his message a couple times, examining it one last time before sending.

birdboy: Howdy? Partner? Wow that is so lame.

Cut the sass, dumbass. Quit being such an uptight bitch all the time.

redindigo: are you making fun of the way i greet people?

birdboy: Possibly.

redindigo: i love the attitude, your not like everyone else. you kinda remind me of someone actually.

'Not like everyone else'? What does that mean?

birdboy: You're*
birdboy: And is that a good thing or a bad thing? Who do I remind you of?

redindigo: wow sorry grammar police
redindigo: but that's not important.
redindigo: don't want to risk you finding out who i am

birdboy: I'll tell you who i am if you tell me who you are.

redindigo: no can do, buckaroo

birdboy: How about we make a compromise? Like, you tell me one thing about yourself and if i find out who you are we can meet up or something?

redindigo: that-
redindigo: that's not a bad idea...

birdboy: Okay i'll do it too to make it even. You go first.

redindigo: wait i have to go first?

birdboy: Yes! Now go!

redindigo: okay okay, geez
redindigo: im a guy

Stan stopped in his tracks. He kinda assumed that he was talking to a guy, but he felt odd now that it was confirmed. He's not gay- or so he's pretty sure he's not.

birdboy: Well shit. I am too.

redindigo: i can tell from your user lol

Idiot.

birdboy: Oh yeah...right.

redindigo: look i gotta run. i'll text you later?

Look what you did, Stanley. You scared him away with your stupidity.

birdboy: Oh okay

redindigo: oh don't be sad, birdie, it's only for a few hours.

Stan couldn't help but blush a bit to himself.

birdboy: Birdie is the lamest nickname ever.

redindigo: well i dont know ur name so
redindigo: here text me at ***-***-****

birdboy: Wow, you trust me enough to give me your number? You don't even know my name.

redindigo: im sure i will one day
redindigo: text you later bird boy

birdboy: Bye, Red.

Stan then quickly went to grab a piece of paper and a pen and wrote the number down. He logged out, grabbed the piece of paper with the mysterious boy's number, and laid back down on his bed. He smiled softly to himself before his bubbled was quickly bursted.

"Stanley come downstairs for dinner!" Andrea shouted from what Stan assumed to be at the bottom of the steps. He set the paper down and walked downstairs, smiling more than his has in months.
