It had been a week since Stan and Bill started dating and Stan wasn't hating it completely. He liked all the attention he was getting and he was happy to finally be dating someone. Even if they weren't the one he wished he was dating.
He also learned a lot more about Red as well. He learned he was good at math and science, he's an extrovert, he was bisexual, he liked dogs, he had a job, he hasn't gotten a drivers license yet, and most importantly he lives in Maine. In fucking Maine. That's what had Stan jumping up and down in happiness in his room while Bill was over.
"D-d-did you win the l-lottery or someth-thing?" Bill asked as he looked up from the book he was reading. Whenever they hang out together they just do their own things. You would not be able to tell they were a couple if you just looked at the way they act toward each other. More, how Stan acts toward Bill. They haven't even actually kissed yet because every time Bill tries to Stan finds some way to get out the situation. He even fell out of his seat at lunch because he scooted so far away from Bill when he tried to kiss him. Bill was patient though, he thought tan just needed some time.
"A close friend of mine lives in Maine. Could possibly even live here in Derry." Stan smiled widely as he sat down next to Bill. Bill furrowed his eyebrows a bit as he looked at Stan. "A c-close friend like who?" He asked, kind of starting to get a bit suspicious.
"Oh, no one. He's just a friend I made like a week ago. No big deal." Stan shrugged and looked back at his phone, going back to tweeting who Bill was pretty sure was this new friend Stan was talking about. "what's his n-n-name?" Bill questioned. He wouldn't admit he was getting jealous, but deep down he knew he was. "Red." He mumbled as he was quickly typing on his phone.
"Red?"
"Well, that's not his actual name. I don't know what his actual name is so I call him red."
Stan wouldn't look up from his phone at all and it stayed this way for 30 more minutes before Bill couldn't take it anymore. Bill quickly got up, grabbing his book and his back pack before walking over to the door. This is what finally made Stan raise his head.
"Where are you goin', babe?"
"Home."
"I thought you were staying the night?"
"N-not anymore." Bill walked out of the room and closed the door behind him. Stan heard Bill shout 'have fun with your new boyfriend' before he left and walked back home.
Stan sighed softly before laying back on his bed. Wow, you're such a great boyfriend Stan, he thought to himself. He quickly got an idea and tapped in a number, waiting for the person to pick up. As soon as he heard a small click he knew they had picked up.
(quick A/N bold is Red and regular is Stan)
"Hel-"
"I fucked up"
"..."
"What's wrong? Red, are you still there?"
"...Y-Yeah. You just oddly sound a lot like someone I know"
"Same to you. You sound different than I expected"
"You sound a lot like I hoped you would"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"...Nothing"
Stan was a little suspicious, but he decided to let it slide.
"You...you sound kinda gravely. Did you just wake up?"
"From a nap, yes."
"..."
"Sorry"
"You're fine"
They went on to talk about nothing yet everything for hours giggling about the awful jokes and stories they told each other. Some felt familiar, but Stan thought nothing of it.
"Okay, okay you never told me who you like."
"No, I don't think thats-"
"C'mon! I told you! You can trust me! It's not like I'll tell them anyway."
Stan heard him laugh heartily. That laugh seemed so familiar.
"Okay, alright"
"Yes! Okay what are they like? Are they cute?"
"Oh yeah, very"
"What do they look like? Tell me the things you like about them"
"Okay. Well he goes to the same school as me and he's very handsome. He has these amazing cheek bones and jawline and these eyes that just drag you in the longer you look at him. And his hair is so beautifully curly yet tame and its an amazing dirty blond that compliments his slightly tanned skin. His lips and skin look so pleasantly soft and he knows how to dress-"
Stan's eyes widened and he stopped in his tracks. He couldn't seriously be talking about-
"But the most important important part of all is his personality. He can be a little uptight and moody sometimes, but I think it's the cutest thing ever. He'll never notice me though because he has a boyfriend"
Stan flushed completely and he didn't know what to say. Red knew him, but didn't know he did. This couldn't be possible.
"Um...you still there?"
"Gotta go, BYE!"
And before Red could respond Stan hung up and threw his phone away from him, internally praying it didn't break or crack. He sighed, letting out a breath he didn't even know he was holding.
Holy fucking shit. He needed to know who Red was.
