The last few days Richie had been so jumpy. Literally everything scared him now. It was like Chippy's death cut his last string of sanity. Stan had even caught him talking in his sleep a few times, but assumed that with time everything would go back to normal and that Richie was just grieving.

However, a year had passed and yet Richie began to talk in his sleep more frequently about things that horrified Stan. Stan could tell he was spiraling. He attempted to hint at his husband that if anything was wrong then he could talk to him about it, but Richie never seemed to know what he was talking about.

This particular day, Stan had to work a little later than usual, but had gotten a call from Aubrey's school that no one had showed up to get her (even though he and Richie had made an agreement that Richie would pick her up from school that day) so he had to leave work to go get her himself. On the way home they stopped to get ice cream as an apology for leaving her at school for about 2 hours longer than they should have.

When Stan and Aubrey got home Stan threw the keys down and sighed softly, Aubrey running past him to set her backpack on the couch. "Richard, you forgot to pick up Aubrey! You never do that!" Stan shouted in the hopes of his husband hearing. After he got no response he sighed louder. "You making me leave work early just lost us about 90 something bucks! I hope you're proud!" Stan shouted a little louder. Still no response. All he heard was the tv that was now on in the living room since Aubrey had just turned it onto some cartoon that was unfamiliar to Stan.

"Hey, Aubrey, you know the rules. No tv before homework." Stan said sternly, but instead of getting an actual response from his daughter she shot up from her seat and quickly shouted "I have to pee first!" before running to the bathroom. Stan laughed and rolled his eyes at this. He almost went to sit down before he heard a screech come from the bathroom and he ran as fast as he could. What he saw had him in utter shock and he couldn't move or speak even if he wanted to at first.

"I..." He started. His throat felt dry.

"Aubby, go put your coat and your shoes on."
