"So? Are you up for it?" your trance suddenly cut short by Nanhee's voice.

You look up to face your best friend, "what?"

"I was asking you if you wanted to go out for some BBQ and karaoke tonight. The semester's finally over. We should celebrate!"

"Sure. I'll pick you up by 7."

Your best friend squeals and hugs you before returning to her bowl of jjajangmyeon. As you do the same to your plate of penne, your mind immediately drifts to your earlier thoughts.

"I think we have to end this." Your voice came out as a whisper, but it was enough for him to hear.

You were both sitting on a park bench, the breeze of spring hitting your skin lightly. The silence was not relaxing; it was rather deafening.

The feeling on your chest felt ten times heavier when he didn't respond immediately. Your heart was beating fast – like a time bomb bound to go off any second.

Please say something – you thought to yourself.

What you got was a nod.

That was all he could give you as an answer.

He turned on his seat to face you.

He saw how broken you were. He knew it was all his doing, but he couldn't bring it to himself to admit that he was at fault.

As you returned his gaze, your eyes did not fail to see the tears forming in his eyes before he looked away to let the first drop fall.

Suddenly, he was on his feet.

He took one last look at you before placing a kiss on your forehead, "please take care of yourself." And then he left.

That's when you allowed the tears to fall.

You take one last look on the mirror before heading out of your house and getting in your car.

The street was unexpectedly quiet, allowing you to drive at a faster speed than your usual.

You softly hum a random tune while driving until you eventually give in and switch on the radio.

Too busy looking for the right frequency, you don't notice a van speeding towards your direction.

You stay frozen on your seat, your mind not fully functioning to register what's about to happen.

Before you know it, the van crashes to your side of the car, and your vision turns black.
