Let Go

Chapter 11

"Kook," Jimin says as soon as the front door shuts, indicating the arrival of the other guys. "Can we talk?" you hear him ask Jungkook. You hear footsteps approach the couch you and Yoongi are in and you continue to pretend to be sleeping. You feel Jungkook move some hair to the side of your face and he lightly caresses your cheek.

"She's fine, Kook. She's been asleep for a while now. Talk to Jimin," Yoongi tells him. Soon you hear footsteps go up the stairs and silence takes over once again.

Due to the uncomfortable position you're in for the past hour, your neck begins to hurt. Realizing there's no more point in pretending to be asleep, you slowly open your eyes.

"Hey," Taehyung's the first to notice.

You adjust yourself on the couch, sitting yourself between Taehyung and Yoongi.

"How are you feeling?" Yoongi asks you. You simply give him a shrug and stand from your seat, "I'm going to take a shower. Thank you, oppa." You excuse yourself and head to your room. As you near your bedroom door, you see Namjoon, Jin, and Hoseok standing by the door across yours and you immediately assume that Jungkook and Jimin are in that room.

"Y/N," Namjoon calls out to you.

Once again, you get asked, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, oppa. I'm just going to take a shower." You don't spare any of them a glance before turning the knob and entering your room.

Once the tub is filled, you step in, allowing the warm water to get your body relaxed. You sigh in content as you lay your head on the cold marble, close your eyes, and let your mind wander to Taehyung and Jimin's conversation a while ago.

"Do you still love her?" Taehyung asks.

Jimin inhales deeply before letting out a sigh and answering, "I never stopped loving her."

"Then why didn't you ask her to take you back? You didn't even reach out to her after your breakup." Yoongi joins in the conversation.

"I was hurting her. I saw that she was unhappy, and I realized that she didn't deserve to be in a relationship with someone like me. We were busy with promoting, we had dance practices 24/7, I couldn't sneak out to meet up with her, and I don't know," he sighs putting his head in his hands, "shit just happened and I somehow lost interest in the relationship cause I wasn't seeing her that much anymore, and we didn't communicate that much at all since I always end up falling asleep once we get home."

"How could you say that you never stopped loving her when you literally just said you lost interest in your relationship?" Hoseok sounds confused, and angry.

"After she broke up with me, I didn't know what to do. I was lost for a while, and when I realized how much I was letting the break up affect me, I tried to distract myself by keeping myself busy. I tried to do that until I noticed that no matter how much I tell myself to focus on the thing I'm doing, I always end up thinking about her, and regretting everything I did back then. I always thought that if I had done things differently, we still would've been together until now," his voice breaks as he speaks.

Upon hearing this, you want nothing more than to approach him and wrap your arms around him.

"You could've told us how you were feeling so that you didn't have to go through it alone," Taehyung tells him, the feeling of betrayal evident as he speaks, "you could've told me."

"I know. I'm sorry. I just didn't know how to open up about stuff like this, and I didn't know if you guys would actually know anything about it," Jimin gestures to them.

"Fair enough," Hoseok acknowledges.

"What are you gonna do now, though? She's in a relationship with Kook." Yoongi asks, but before Jimin can answer, the sound of the door opening causes their conversation to be cut short.

After your bath, you head back to the living room only to find five of them in there. Jin notices your wandering eyes so he tells you, "they're not done talking yet."

"Hey, come here," Yoongi gestures for you to sit between him and Taehyung. The first thing you say once you've settled in your seat is, "I'm sorry."

"Y/N, you don't have to apologize for anything," Namjoon tells you.

"We understand the situation. Joon's right, you have nothing to be sorry for," Hoseok gives you a smile.

Without anything to say after getting dismissed, you simply return the gesture and get comfortable in your seat.

"I'm going to cook dinner. Do you guys want anything in particular?" Jin breaks the silence.

A chorus of nos erupt from everyone in the living room before Jin leaves for the kitchen with Yoongi following him to help.

The rest of you left in the living room decide to watch a random variety show as you wait. Despite your attempt to understand what the cast was doing, your mind can't seem to stop itself from wandering to the guys in the guest room.

Taehyung notices this and calls for you to scoot closer to him. He holds up his arm for you, wrapping you in it as you snuggle to his shoulder. His hand rubs your arm in order to comfort you and he softly speaks, "relax a little. They're just sorting things out. They'll come around soon."

You sigh, "I made things awkward between them, and I'm sure Kookie's mad at me for not telling him about me and Jimin."

"That's okay. I'm sure he knows you have your reasons. I know you do," he comforts you.

"Y/N?"
