Tris POV

"So where should we go?" I ask the girls.

We decided to split up. The girls went together and the boys went together.

"So we have to get stuff for the boys, each other, and are family's so who do you want to shop for first?" Shauna says.

"Our family's." Christina says.

"Uh I don't really have any family." I say.

"What do you mean?" Marlene asks me.

"Well they're not going to be here for Christmas. Caleb is at a boarding school in Europe, and my Mom and Dad are filming a movie in Australia." I say.

"You can spend Christmas at my house." Sage says.

"You don't have to do that." I say.

"Yes I do. Now no arguing you are spending Christmas at my house." Sage says. I smile.

"Thanks." I say.

"No problem now let's go." Sage says.

    I drop the bags on the floor. We were at the mall for almost five hours.

Sage went to Marlene's house so I decide to go for a walk.

I walk to the Chasm. It takes about a hour to get there.

I run my hand along the railing. Somebody punches me and I fall to the ground. The pick me up and slam my back into the railing. I see who it is. Peter the school bully, Drew his sidekick, and Al.

Peter pushes me backwards so my feet leave the ground. The only thing that's keeping me from falling to my death is Peter.

"What do you want?" I ask my voice shaking.

"Well I just wanted the chance to punch you and Al wanted to get something from you that he never got." Peter says smirking.

Al's hand slides under my shirt. He smirks.

"Wow Tris are you sure you're seventeen? You feel like you're only twelve." Al says.

Tears run down my cheeks.

"Hey!" I hear someone yell.

Al let's go of me and all of them run away.

I fall to the ground. Tears run down my cheeks and my lip quivers. The person runs toward me. It's Tobias.

"Four." I say gasp.

He kneels down next to me.

"Are you okay?" He asks me.

I nod and wipe my tears away.

"Can we just go back to my house?" I ask.

He nods and picks me up bridal style.

"You don't need to carry me." I whisper.

"Yes I do." He says.

Tobias takes me to his car and puts me the passenger seat. He gets in the driver seat.

We drive to my house. He carries me up to my room and puts me on my bed.

He stares at me.

"What?" I ask.

"Any other girl would be sobbing after what just happened and your not even crying, why not?" He asks me.

"I don't really know. I guess I feel more embarrassed then upset." I say.

Tobias nods. I can see the anger in his eyes.

"Who was there?" He asks me.

"Peter, Drew, a-and Al." I say.

"I swear to god a will kick their asses next time I see them." He says with the anger clear in his voice.

I give him a small smile.

"Tris your eyebrow's cut." Tobias says.

I touch my eyebrow with my finger tip and wince. I look at my fingers. There's blood on them.

Tobias goes into the bathroom and comes back out with a wet wash. He dabs the cut on my eyebrow.

"I love you." I say.

He frowns.

"Say it again." He says.

"I love you Tobias." I say looking into his eyes.

He gives me along slow kiss. He pulls away slightly so our foreheads are touching.

"I love you too."
