The next Tuesday, Hans and I met at Vicky's Flying Eight Diner. We talked awhile about him moving, and I didn't talk most of the time.

"You know we have to do something about this," I finally spoke up.

"Ya. I just don't know what."

"I already gave you an idea."

"Anna, we can't."

We fell silent.

~~~
We didn't talk for at least another 10 minutes. But then I finally spoke up.
"Uh.. Hans, I um. I have to tell you something. It's big."
"What's wrong, sweetheart?"
"I-I think I'm, uh. I mean, I might be... pregnant."
He looked up from his coffee mug and stared directly into my eyes. His face grew pale, and he became so quite I could hear his heart beat begin to race. I grabbed his hands to try to reassure him but he moved away.
"Um. When did this? How did we? Anna, are you sure it's my-", he couldn't finish his sentences, but I knew exactly what he was saying.
"Well it happened a few weeks ago, I think around three. I guess the um, thing, didn't work. And ya I'm absolutely positive it's yours. I mean, it couldn't be anyone else's," every thing I said was true. Except for the last two sentences.
"Does anyone else know?"
"No, just us."
"Okay good. But what about you're parents. What happens when they find out?"
"I don't know. But I'm going to find out, tonight."
~~~

Hans drove me home, but I decided it would be best if he didn't come inside. He kissed me good bye, and even though he didn't say it, I knew it also meant good luck.

"Hey Mom."

"Oh hey sweetie, who was that?", my mom asked as she diced weird looking vegetables on the cutting board.

"Oh don't worry about it. Mmhmm, dinner smells great! What are we having?"

"It's a surprise. But there's a little bit of alcohol, I think it'll be okay though since you're almost eighteen."

"Um, I -uh- don't think that's a good idea."

"Oh why not? It's okay me."

"But um, well, alcohol can be er, very uh damaging to the average pregnant woman."

"Yes, what is your point exactly?"

"Well, you know. Just your everyday, normal, *coughpregnantcough* teenager stuff."

"I'm sorry did I hear you say you're pregnant!?", my dad asked as he walked through the kitchen door.

"Oh hey Dad, I uh thought you were on a business trip."

"I was, but I got back early."

"Well that's gre-"

"Don't change the subject," my father said sternly.

"Fine. I am pregnant. Now accept it, this is your grandchild! So you're gonna love it!"

"Alright," my mother finally said. "I just wanna knows whose it is.

Fuck.
