"hi." athena said, suddenly realising that her father was the one who entered the room. "what the hell are you doing here?"

"can't i come to see you guys?"

"not after everything that you've done." the girl spat out.

"all i've tried to do is protect you."

"by leaving us? i don't think that's how it works, josh." athena looked at jack, who had a shocked face.

"i thought you'd be more excited to see me." he said, disappointment in his voice.

"maybe if you weren't suck a dick, i would be."

"excuse me, sir. your daughter needs some rest. stress isn't good for her at this moment, so we'd appreciate if you stepped out." another doctor stepped in.

"can i talk to her for a minute?" josh asked.

"i said-" the doctor was interrupted by jordan.

"tc, let him talk to her for a second."

"fine. just a minute." with that, tc stepped out.

"look, i'm very sorry. i know i shouldn't have left you guys the way i did. i wanna make things right. i can't stay, but you guys can always contact me when you need to." he said as he stepped closer to the bed his daughter was laying on.

"i don't know about that. i am glad to see you, tho." she looked up to him, tears already falling from her eyes.

"oh, baby." he whispered before hugging athena. "i love you. i'm so sorry."

"sadly, i love you too, josh."
