•Ken Kaneki 2•

"(Y/N), Run!"

You and Kaneki were supposed to be spying on someone from Aogiri, but you two immediately ended up getting caught so now you're both on the run back to the base.

You ended up getting lost in your thoughts about what'll happen and what they'll do to you if you got caught and it took Kaneki a few quiet tries to fully get your attention. You blink a few times before nodding and catching up with him.

"How far is the base from here?" you ask him in between breaths. The white haired male looks around at where you two are at before looking back at you.

"Pretty far, but we'll make it."

You let out a dramatic sigh. This wouldn't be happening if you and Kaneki's group just minded your business. He looks behind you and quickly grabs your waist and pulls you in from of him, wrapping his kagune around the two of your bodies. "Hang on, we're going up," he says, out of breath.

He starts to run up a building all while tightening his grip on you so that you don't fall. When you reach the top of the building, he lets you go and pushes you forward to start running again. At this point, you're convinced that you're going to get caught. You zone out again and he holds your hand in his and gives you a short but sweet smile. "As long as you're with me, you'll be ok."

You guys finally reach the base and as soon as you do, you let yourself fall onto the ground and catch as many deep breaths as your body can allow you. Kaneki disappears into the kitchen, but quickly comes back with a package and lies down beside you.

"Are you ok?" he finally asks after a while. You nod, not looking at him like you normally would. He sighs from his nose and turns your head towards him. "Are you sure.."

You contemplate for a second. "I.. Well I just feel like we wouldn't be in this situation if we just stayed here with everyone else," you say quietly. He chuckles lightly and opens the package, giving you half of the meat in there before shoving the other half in his mouth and picks you up bridesmaid style, making you laugh quietly.

"Kaneki I promise I'm ok, that was just my only concern," you say and he shushes you by putting the other half of the human meat in your mouth and chews his own. "At least lay down for a bit and eat something," he says after swallowing his food. You reluctantly agree since he'd keep pestering you to eat and lay down if you say no.

He gently lays you down onto the unmade bed and moves in beside you, throwing the covers over both and you. "Hurry up and sleep, we have a busy day tomorrow."

You groan and throw your arms over your eyes after he softly kisses you on the cheek.

"Goodnight (Y/N), I love you."
