the new pony

My first day in Ponyville wasn't a very good experience. I had trouble getting a place to stay. and ponies who passed by would always stare at my coal black coat, my bat wings, and my flaming hair. I was different, I had just moved out of the cave, and I had no friends whatsoever.

I wandered around Ponyville asking for a place to stay, all the while looking and admiring all the wonderful figures called "houses".

All my life I've lived in a large cave, and I've never been in a "house". I thought to myself.

OOF!

I fell on the ground after being smacked by something flying extremely fast.

"omigosh! I'm so sorry! are you hurt?" the Pegasus said as she landed on the ground swiftly.

"what?huh?but....how?!!" I yelled rubbing my head. I was surprised at how fast that pony flew.

"heh, yeah... sorry. I guess I got carried away with my flying." her face was tomato red with embarrassment, and she was drawing circles in the dirt with her hoof.

"name's rainbow dash! what's your name?" she asked with a smile. she had a cyan colored coat and rainbow hair.

"uh... what? Oh... my name? well my name is Fire Blast" I told her, my mind still boggled from the hit.

"cool name. so... what's with the wings and your mane?" rainbow asked.

oh so she noticed too?!! I thought angrily.

"well my dad was a dragon and my mom was a Pegasus".

"that is so AWESOME!! I wish I had wings like those!" she yelled.

"really?"I was shocked. "nopony ever said that. why would somepony suddenly like my wings?"

I stood waiting for her response. she would just stare dreamily at my wings.

  "um, rainbow dash?" I waved my hoof in front of her eyes.

"oh, sorry," she shook out of her daze. "you're looking for a place to stay right?"

"um, yeah. Do you know where I can stay?" I cocked my head slightly.

"yeah you can stay with Fluttershy... if that's okay with her. but first, I think Twilight might want to take a look at you. her being an egghead and all."

I nodded my head. "I can take you there," she opened her wings "but first, I wanna see how those wings work!"

she took off into the sky, leaving a rainbow trail behind her. I automatically took off, gaining speed each second, and with each second my heart raced faster and faster. I finally got to her side and tapped her shoulder with my hoof. she looked at me and smiled.

"look!" she pointed behind me. I turned my head and as I flew and behind me was a fiery trail much similar to the trail behind rainbow dash. I had never felt so alive.

so this is what it feels like to race. wind blowing through my mane, and adrenaline rushing through my body.
I liked that feeling.
