Chapter 2: Andy

     I went over to Rebecca's house to surprise her. I know we haven't talked in years but that doesn't mean I didn't care about her. I heard Rebecca's moms' phone ring. 

"Hello? Oh hi honey. 5 minutes away? Ok, oh and we have a suprise waiting for you when you get home." She hung up the phone and I started to get really excited. Then I heard a car door open then slam shut. 

     I jumped behind the couch to hide. She came into the house and sat her bags on the floor. Then she hugged her parents. "Oh my goodness baby, it's so good to see you again!" I could tell her mom was happy to see her. "Awh mom I've missed you too... So where's my surprise?" I heard Becca say. "Wait right here." Ben and Claire walked away to the other room. Claire looked back at me and winked. It's go time!

     I jumped up from behind the couch and yelled "SURPRISE REBECCA!" She had the biggest smile on her face, she ran over to me and hugged me with all her force. All I could do was laugh. "What are you doing here?"  

"What I can't suprise my best friend for coming home?" She just hugged me. I showed her to her room. All she did was scream in excitment. I just laughed more. 

"So where are you staying?" She asked. "I have a house 10 miles from here." She looked sad for some reason. "What's wrong?" I lifted her head with my finger under her chin. "It's just that, I just got here and I haven't seen you since I was 10. I was wondering if you could stay the night." I saw a tear go down her cheek. I wrapped my arms around her and she put her head on my shoulder. 

"Please don't cry Becca, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you." We just stood there hugging eachother. She pulled away and said "Look Andy, I know you're in this band and have a lot of things to do but could we hang out like we used to." I nodded. 

"Of course Becca, I wouldn't want it any other way." She smiled. That piercing smile.

     I made my way to the bathroom, as I stood there splashing my face with water, I looked up into the mirror to see Rebecca behind me, her arms wrapped around my stomach. 

"Are you ok Andy?" She said as she put her head on my back.

 "Yeah, I'm fine." I turned around and grabbed her hand. "We should go to sleep." She nodded.

 We walked to the bedroom and fell on the bed. I wrapped my arms around her until she fell asleep, then I closed my eyes.
