"It's about time I got a new bag for school, don't you think?" I asked Kendrick, who followed to the mall on Saturday.

"Who are you trying to impress in school now?" He asked me, as I looked around for cute bags that I would take.

"No one," I whined. "It's just that my locker is right next to Jason's, so I'll keep my books so I won't have to go to my locker often."

"You've done a pretty good job at avoiding him for the past week though," He told me, which is true. But since Tuesday, he hasn't been talking to me, and I think that's because of Amanda. Every time I see him trying to walk over to me, I notice Amanda pull him back and then she says something to him. It happened twice on Wednesday, and I think once more on Thursday. But after those attempts, he stopped all together. Amanda hasn't talked to me at all either, but I think it's because she doesn't want to be around me when I'm with Dustin. I hang out with Josh, Sophie, Dustin and Carter now, and sometimes some other people would be there, but I only knew Braden. It didn't matter who I knew anyway, because they never talked to me. I mean, that's not my fault or anything, Sophie and I talk practically the whole time I'm with them. I'm not complaining though, she's pretty cool and super nice to talk to. She wasn't like Amanda though, not that kind of nice that was super nice - when I first met her though. I think Sophie was nicer in comparison though, and she was better talking to her, because she doesn't continuously ask me about Josh and stuff. Amanda constantly talking about Josh was honestly starting to get really annoying, because she keeps saying she doesn't like him, but yet she talks about him like he put all the stars in the sky.

I shrugged, picking up a black backpack, it was super cute. It had silver circle thingies decorating the pockets and stuff, and everything else was just plain black. It was simple, but still looked cute. "Do you like?" I wondered, turning to Kendrick and showing him the bag.

"What's up with you and black? Your old bag was like, seven colours,"

"Ken, listen, I'm still going to be colourful sometimes, I just like this." I told him, trying not to whine when I say that, so I made my voice sound like if I was explaining something to a three year old that they didn't understand but you didn't know how to make them understand; like when they do something wrong and don't know how it's wrong, you get a tone that sounds like you're not really scolding them but you kind of are at the same time.

He sighed, "Okay, so do you want that one?"

I nodded, and checked the price, "It's twenty dollars,"

"Are you sure about that?" He asked when he looked at the tag.

"Yeah, it says it right there, are you blind?"

"No, but I think you are, it's fifty dollars, Kat." He told me, pointing to where the price was on the tag. But I could clearly see that it said $20.00 on it; well not clearly, it was a little bit blurry.

I squinted a little and looked at it properly, and the price did say fifty dollars. "I think my eye sight is getting worse, Ken."

"We could take you to optometrist today if you want," He offered, as I hooked the bag in my hand and we walked through more of the store we were in.

"I think that would be a very good idea," I agreed, as we stopped in line to buy the bag. The line wasn't that long, so we managed to get out of it in just about two minutes with my brand new bag for school. We didn't get anything else, because I was really starting to see blurry, and I walked into the door when we were coming out of the store. I saw two doors, that was why, and I thought the one I walked to was the illusion one, but it wasn't and I walked into the door. And I also didn't want to spend too much money, considering the bag was already $50. Kendrick took my hand and led me outside until we got to his car, and I was safely sitting in the passenger seat. He walked around and got into the driver seat, and we soon started driving off. I think we were going to the eye doctor now, because we weren't going in the direction of home. I could kind of see that, because I wasn't seeing as blurry anymore. I turned around and put my new bag in the backseat, and drove in silence until we got to the hospital.
