I woke up this morning with a butterfly party in my stomach. It was my first rehearsal with the football team and to say I was nervous would be an understatement. I couldn't understand why I was so nervous because I have danced a million times before. I decided to try and shake the nerves off as I took a nice steamy shower.
Today, my brothers have offered to take me to rehearsal since they were coming straight home after practice which they never do.
I got myself ready pretty quickly and threw on my dance team uniform which was a sports bra and shorts. I threw on a pullover to cover myself, grabbed my dance bag, and began to make my breakfast.
"Morning Gigi," My mother said with a bright smile on her face as she looked up at me from behind her computer.
"Morning," I said as I walked over to the fridge to grab some butter. "What are you working on." I grabbed the loaf of bread from the breadbasket and put two pieces into the toaster. The smell of bread immediately filled the air and the aroma made my mouth drool.
"A new business idea," She said with enthusiasm, "I'm thinking of adding some more clothing to the clothing line." My mom was such a hard worker and I admired that about her. She was always trying to make something new with her business and I loved her determination.
"I can't wait to see," I said turning around to face her with a smile on my face. I turned back around just in time for my toast to pop up. I went to grab the two slices but they were immediately snatched by what I am ashamed to call my brother.
"What the hell," I said whipping my head around to see Matthew eating the pieces of toast that just came out of the toaster.
"Gianna. Language." I heard my mother say but was to upset to pay attention.
"Thanks, sis," Matthew said before disappearing behind the kitchen door.
"Idiot," I mumbled to myself. Shortly after I had a new piece of toast and was happily eating when Phillip and Jordan came walking down the stairs.
"You're missing the third musketeer," I said as I noticed Matthew wasn't with them.
"Very funny," Lip said, "I'll be in the car."
"Let's go G," Jordan said. He hugged my mother goodbye before walking out of the kitchen.
I grabbed my water bottle and dance bag before walking outside to the car. "Bye mom," I yelled while I was walking out.
"Bye sweetie," she said. I locked the door behind me and hopped into the car with Lip next to me. Jordan started the car and peeled out of the driveway and onto our journey to school.
"So Lip, it has been a while," I said facing him fully, "Tell me about you and Jess." His eyes immediately went wide and his cheeks turned red. "So you are banging my best friend," I raised an eyebrow at his reaction.
"No comment," He said turning to look out the window completely avoiding my gaze.
"Good to know," I said with a huge grin on my face, "I'll take that as a yes."
The drive to school was short but felt like forever when my brothers who were both in the front wouldn't shut up.
We all filed out the car going our separate ways.
