A couple of days later the investigator came in and said "okay Ms Hamilton. We have done some digging. But we need a couple of things your mother Melinda is your mother but going by your birthday your dad that you know was on deployment."
"So I'm a product of an affair." she said
"It would appear so." the investigator said
"So do we know who her dad is?" Bucky said
"Well no that's where I need your mother Lindsey." the investigator said
"She won't answer questions I've tried my whole life." she said
"Is there anyone else that would know that you know she was close to." the investigator said
"I no I don't know many of her friends and the only person that I know that would come around a lot was my aunt Bailey." she said
"Okay well we will talk to her then." the investigator said then he left.
She leaned against his desk and shook her head. Bucky hugged her and said "It's ok baby we will figure out who your real dad is."
A month went by and the investigator was checking in with Bucky each time he followed another lead. Then one day he came into the office and said "Lindsey we may have found him. The only problem is we need a DNA sample from you."
"I can do that." she said
"Good I was hoping you would say yes so I brought along a DNA specialist." he said
The DNA specialist came in and did a swab then we will have the results in a few days then they left.
"James I'm so scared what if he doesn't want a relationship with me." she whispered as he hugged her.
"Well what kind of man has a one night stand with a woman that's married." he said
She busted out laughing and he said "Hey we are not talking about me."
"Okay I'm sorry that was just funny coming from you." she said
"Oh you are so mean to me baby." he said
"You know you love me." she said
"I do love you gorgeous." he said
A couple of days later the investigator came in and said "Lindsey..the DNA results were a match." as he hands her the paper.
Bucky came up behind her and started to read the paper and whispered "Holy fuck."
"What? Do you know him?' she said
"Oh my god oh my god." he said as he started pace.
She said "James what is it."
"Baby I know him cause that's Raelynn's dad." he said
She felt their baby girl kicking and she whispered "Oh my god."
She swallowed hard then said "Does he know that we looked into finding him." to the investigator.
"That's why we had to do the DNA test your aunt said that your mother had a two week long affair with a Marcus Jones. They worked at the hospital together till she got pregnant then when she went to him he said that he couldn't let it get out cause he was married and already had one daughter that at the time was 7 years old." the investigator said
She looked down then Bucky said "Does he want to meet her?'
"He said that if the results came back that she was in fact the daughter of Melinda Hamilton that he would like to meet her because after losing his other daughter he felt a tredmendous amount of guilt for not allowing her to be apart of his life." the investigator said
She swallowed hard and picked up the paper that she dropped then got out her cellphone and called the number.
"Hello this is Dr Marcus Jones how can I help you?' he said
"Hi this is um Lindsey Hamilton I um I'm Melinda Hamilton's daughter." she said
"Oh my gosh Lindsey Hamilton. Um are you free anytime today?' he said
"Yeah I have some free time." she said
"Would you like to have lunch with me so we can meet and talk?' he said
"Yeah I would love that." she said
"Great noon okay." he said
"Yeah.." she said as she wrote down on her planner.
"Great see you then Lindsey." he said
"See you then." She said as she hung up.
She let out a breathe and Bucky said "Baby you need to calm down. She's going crazy in there." as he felt their daughter kicking.
"Go with me." she said
"I don't mind to go with you. I haven't seen Marcus in a long time baby I wanted to go regardless just to see his face. That's where you get the red hair and green eyes baby Marcus is a red head and has green eyes." he said
They got to the restaurant and Marcus was reading the menu.
"Marcus Jones." Bucky said
He looked up and said "James.."
"Meet your daughter Lindsey Hamilton." he said
She came out from behind him and Marcus said "Holy hell.. James she how did you find her."
"She works for me and she's my girlfriend." Bucky said
"Your dating my other daughter now." he said with a smile.
"Well more than just dating we are living together and well by some miracle cause she's exactly like Raelynn Marcus not just in her looks but she has endometriosis too. But by some miracle she's pregnant all on her own. " Bucky said
He hugged Bucky and said "Thank you."
"Lindsey it's so nice to meet you honey.I"m so sorry for everything." he said as he hugged her.
She hugged him back and said "It's okay. I understand I just mom wouldn't answer my questions. I'm the only red head."
"God she looks so much like Rae James." he said as he looked at Bucky.
Bucky started laughing and said "Yeah I know I literally thought I was dying when she walked into my office 4 years ago."
They ate lunch and talked about everything she learned so much more about her older sister Raelynn and her dad during the lunch.
That night she was in the bath and he came in and said "Hey baby you okay?'
"Yeah I just it's been a big day." she said as he got in on the other side of the tub.
She scooted over and laid in between his legs and she said "Still doesn't freak you out."
"No baby. Do you want to know why?' he said
"Yeah." she said as she played with his fingers.
"Because your sister was the only girl I ever loved whole heartedly I never cheated on Rae never even had the thought to and granted yeah I was 15 and 16 years old but I knew that she was the one my heart wanted when she had the accident it felt like my whole world was spinning out of control. I did a lot of stuff to deal with the grief of losing her. When I was married to Natalie and Rachel something just didn't feel right and sex wasn't great with them it always felt like something was missing. And then you walked into my life and it felt like my world was falling back into it's place. When we slept next to each other in Paris my heart and my mind felt at peace and I never felt bad for leaving Rachel alone but when you were hurt cause I didn't take you to Brussels or Tokyo I felt awful I didn't want to leave you alone then we went to Venice and that first kiss baby I felt as if I had been kissing you my whole life. I love you Lindsey." he said
"I love you too." she said with a smile.
