Elkie stood over her family's grave. Her long silver hair swept around by the gentle winds of the day. She was the last of the windfall family, her parents perished during a demon attack whilst in New York for business. During that time. Rumours that Lilith, queen of edom, was in New York as well. Elkie Warned her parents not to go. But the windfall family was an important diplomatic family that carried out all meetings in the mortal world in place of the seelie queen. Elkie already knew it was a death trap since the beginning. Those warlocks, vamps and werewolves deluding themselves with the thought that Shadowhunters would ever want to form an alliance with them. All the Shadowhunters ever wanted was their powers, to use them in battle but deemed unclean and demonic when they did not need assistance.
The entire downworld grieved over their lost loved ones already when valentine activated the soul sword inside the New York Shadowhunters institute. Once again, because of the Shadowhunters, Lilith rose from edom to the mortal world to get revenge for her son Jonathan. The downworld being caught in the crossfires of the battle when they gave their support to the shadow hunters.
Elkie sniffed, trying to hold in the tears that desperately tried to flow out her eyes, her hands in fists.
"Mother, father, I promise you, your deaths will not be in vain. Heads will roll, I swear to you. I will avenge you."
Elkie looked down at the pendant in her hands, a beautiful piece of jewellery, gold, adorned with small rubies around the outside surrounding the black pentagram carved from hellfire. Her thoughts ran to a few days ago when she was approached by a mysterious figure right here at the family grave. He introduced himself as Gabriel, one of the princes of hell.
"Young fey, I know the pain you feel. It must be a great weight to carry dear child. If you join me on the path to claim the underworld, it will be beneficial for you as well. Cut ties with the Shadowhunters and the clave who claim to help and protect the downworld, but is never to be seen during the moments you need them. Instead of offering protection they fuel the divide between you, turning warlock against warlock, fey against fey. All for their own personal vendettas."Elkie was suspicious at first, but she felt that Gabriel had a point. Her family and her people and other downworlders has all suffered for too long. She pledged her allegiance to Gabriel, hungry for revenge, fueled by grief and anger. In her mind, she's ready for the downworld to rise.
"How should we carry out this plan milord?"
Gabriel told her she'll know when it's time to do her part then he vanished in a flurry of smoke and hellfire. He left her the pendant to summon him if needed, and as a reminder to her the deal she made.
