As Alec and Magnus walked into the Institute, it seems like there was some fuss going on in the ops centre. Clary, jace and Maryse deep in conversation with someone that Alec's never seen before. Something about him looked familiar. He wasn't a Shadowhunter, there wasn't any runes on his body. He had beautiful shining blonde hair, probably quite long since it was tied up at the crown of his head. His skin was dark, the colour of burnt caramel, but smooth, his whole body vibrated with a youthful atmosphere. However, something about him exuded an air of knowing and experience.
"Aamon!" Exclaimed Magnus, snapping Alec back to reality. "Magnus knows this guy?" He thought.
The two men walked towards each other in a warm embrace.
"Magnus bane, how have I missed you. How long has it been? Last time I saw you, you and Ragnor were up to no good, getting yourselves banished from Peru." Aamon chuckled. The two stepped apart, their arms still on each other. Alec felt a pang of jealousy. Who is this guy? Magnus usually isn't this friendly to anyone.
"Oh Aamon, let's not bring up my troubled past. I've grown much older and wiser since then." Said Magnus

"I can see that. I was told that you've sacrificed yourself a lot to assist the Shadowhunter in protecting New York."

"Anything to keep our people safe." Magnus then gestured to Alec "Aamon, let me introduce you to my boyfriend and the future head of the New York institute, Alexander!"
Alec walked awkwardly towards them his hand out to shake aamon's.

Aamon eyed Alec up and down, a glint of mocking in his eyes.
"So," said Aamon "this is the infamous Alexander that captured the heart of our lovely Magnus. What An achievement! Someone finally broke down those walls that he build around his heart after Camille."
The thought of Camille put a bitter taste in Alec's mouth. He hated to be reminded of people that Magnus has loved. More so when they've hurt him. Magnus sensed Alec's unease and stepped between them, breaking up the hand shake. Aamon moves his attention to Magnus again.
"My beautiful Magnus, what do you say we catch up tonight after my business here. I want to hear about the last few decades of your life."

"Sure Aamon, I would love to have you over. What business do you have with the institute here?"

"Well, after you gave up your powers to your father to break Lilith's hold on jace, the clave decided to reach out to me to take over the high warlock position."

Magnus looked a little shocked, still not used to losing his powers, the thought often escapes his mind.
"What happened to Lorenzo?" Asked Magnus.
Maryse stepped forward "the clave has decided to appoint Aamon because of the level of power he holds as well as experience in facing greater demons and his ties to edom. It will be an asset if there's a situation like the last one with Lilith again."

Alec looked a little confused. "What kind of ties to Edom ?" He asked skeptically.

"Aamon is the son of another prince of hell, Gabriel. His powers almost rivals what Magnus had before. Unlike Magnus, Aamon has not broken his ties to his father. Hopefully he'll be able to help us keep the peace between our realm and his father's." Answered Maryse.

The rest of the day revolved around Magnus showing Aamon the structure of the wards around the institute and the logistics of updating them and the hey other locations in the city he will have to attend to. Alec followed behind them silently, studying their relationship. Magnus and Aamon certainly looked close, "maybe a little too close? Had they been together at one point in life?" Alec thought. He was so deep in this thoughts that he didn't even notice the pair had stopped. Alec almost ran into Magnus before he snapped back to reality.

"Alec?" Magnus asked, a little worried because he's noticed that Alec has been distant throughout the day.
"I'm fine Magnus, just a little tired. I think I'm going to go and rest up a little bit. Enjoy your evening with Aamon." Then Alec left without waiting for a reply.
Aamon walked closer to Magnus "a jealous one you got there huh?" He smirked then walked away. After about an hour more of surveying the institute, Magnus and Aamon portaled to magnus's loft. Magnus spent sometime preparing food for the two of them, without magic, giving him time to think to himself. He wondered if Alec was okay. When Aamon leaves, he'll call Alec to make sure they're alright.
"Drink?" Aamon offered a glass to Magnus. He took the drink and took a moderate sip. It looked like Aamon was already a few drinks in, dancing around the kitchen, swaying to the music playing from the stereo. Aamon tried to invite Magnus to dance with with him, but Magnus pushed his hand aside and moved the food to the dining table.
"Time to eat" said Magnus curtly. He didn't want to encourage any behaviour from Aamon to cause misunderstanding. He knew Aamon had always been flirtatious, but with Alec in the back of his mind, he acted cautiously.
"Alright Magnus, I guess you don't love a bit of fun anymore with anyone but your boy toy. You were always the type to be swept away by love."
"I guess you're right, Alec has certainly changed me. I didn't think I would love anyone the same way again. So I intend to be loyal to him."
Aamon decided not to push Magnus too far yet. Besides, they've just begun to eat, he had the whole evening to seduce Magnus, and chances are, it'll be easier after a few drinks. They sat through dinner merrily, catching up with aamons life and how he moved up the warlock ranks in Peru, and his plans in New York. Since no more talk of Alec had been brought up, Magnus slowly let down his guard.
