In the large grove where the fair folk gathered for court was eerily silent as they watched Elkie Windfall sit on the sacred throne. The crown bearer walked forth to place the crown on her head, the old seelie queen's body sat lifeless at her feet. A moment later the roots from the ground surrounded the old queen's body and took her into the ground for burial. The whole court was shocked that Elkie had slain the queen to take her throne. But it was the rule of the realm that whoever slays the queen will be guaranteed her crown, so the fair folk naturally obeyed.
"My people," Elkie started with a powerful voice. "Today I am your queen. And starting today we are going to reclaim our world. I refuse to be ruled by the clave, who's shadowhunters do nothing but use us when they claim to protect. Join me on the path to remove the claves power over us and seal the doors into our realm from them. We will be our own people again!"
The court was silent, then a roar of cheering erupted from the crowd. What the queen wants, it shall be achieved. The fair folk has always been a loyal group. And they know the queen is always on the winning side.
Elkie smiled silently to herself. She was another step closer to her goal. To live a life with her people free from the dangerous trappings of the mundane world and the war between heaven and hell. In the back of her mind she felt a slight tingle of fear. She made a deal with the devil, or in this case a prince of hell. Since the demons of hell are parents to the fair folk, there's no way Aamon would come to harm them but what will be the price she'll have to pay to achieve her goal? It'll all be worth it. She told herself as she watched her people come up one by one to donate a little bit of their magic to the faerie chalice as per her request. Once the chalice is filled, There will be enough magic to give to Gabriel to help her seal the realm entrances.Back in New York
Alec had just left for Idris and Magnus is already feeling a bit lonely without him around. There were no house calls today so he had the whole day to himself. He decide to get back into researching the origins of the demons from the park attack a few weeks prior. Just as he sat on his couch, his phone buzzed from his jacket pocket. Clary
Magnus answered the phone. "How are you biscuit?" It's been a while since he's spoken to Clary. Or any other shadowhunter besides Alec actually so it was a nice surprise.
"Hey Magnus, since the big wigs at the institute are all at Idris, what do you say me, you, Izzy and Simon have some good old mundane fun?"
Magnus chuckled at that. "What did you have in mind?"A little while later the group met up in front of Central Park. They spent the day being tourists in their own city. Going to see lady liberty, walking the Brooklyn bridge. Touring the MET, even though Izzy and Simon was a little bored through that. They decided to take a light stroll through Central Park with some coffee to wind down the day.
"How is everything at the institute?" Magnus asked.
"Things are fine. I really wish we could see you more there Magnus." Izzy replies and clary nodded in agreement.
Simon laughed " if Magnus even takes a step into the institute without him being there. ALL of our heads will roll. Man, he's so protective of you."
Magnus recalled the night at his apartment with Aamon with a shudder and said. "There's good reason for that. He's being protective, not over-." Magnus's sentence was cut off by the pulsing of Isabelle's necklace. The group looked around only to notice that there was not a soul in sight. Which was odd considering it's only the late afternoon, usually the park would be filled with people on the way home or to dinner. Unconsciously Simon, clary and Izzy flanked themselves around Magnus. Him being the most vulnerable at this point, is susceptible to the most damage.
Magnus suspected that it's the same unknown demons again from the last park attack. His suspicions were proven correct when he saw the dark smoke starting to surround them. This time the smoke looked stronger and darker, consuming almost the entirety of the space they were in. The silence was almost deafening before what erupted from the smoke. Red eyed smoke demons charged through the smoke, this time going towards the shadowhunters instead of Magnus. The group started their offence as well, running and jumping up in the air to strike down. The demons expertly evaded the attack and began to lead the shadowhunters away from the clearing they were in. Soon, Magnus found himself alone in the smoke, or not, as a tall figure loomed behind the smoke covered air. Magnus braced himself as the figure walked forward. When he saw who emerged, his eyes widened with fear and shock.
