"Have you ever seen something that changed your life?"

I'm direct the question towards my husband, phone clutched in my hand. He looks up at me from where he's sitting, taking my hand and kissing it my knuckles.

"Yes, I saw you." Jacob smiles sweetly.

My heart melts, and I frown, lowering my phone.

"Well, that was really cute, and now this is awkward, because I was just going to show you this video of Nash that I took."

Jacob sits up straighter. "Well, show me, who said I didn't wanna see that?" He grabs me by the waist and pulls me down onto his lap. I curl up against him, tucking my back against his flat stomach, and scroll the many videos I took of our dog playing with a puppy at the dog park earlier today. Even after we've watched them all, I don't get up and move away from Jacob.

"You know," he whispers into my ear after a couple minutes, "You're going to have to get used to sharing my lap soon."

I tilt my head back onto his shoulder so I'm looking up at him. "Now wait a second, I claimed dibs on your lap years ago. I'm not a fan of sharing."

"I guess you'll have to get used to it. I'm pretty sure my lap belongs to my children by default." Jacob smiles down at me.

I reach up and tug at a strand of his hair. "Do you ever realize that there's one baby for each of us?"

"Well, yes. Two and two. It doesn't take a genius to figure out." He teases.

I poke his cheek.

"Oh shut up. What I meant was...I don't know. Do you think one will be more like you and the other more like me?"

"Well, I hope so. That way at least one of them will go on to be amazing. I pity the one that takes after me."

I frown, reaching up to touch his face gently. "Jacob, don't say that. You're the best person I know. You're goofy and funny, and insanely smart and ridiculously attractive. I love you, and if our kids turned out to be just like you I would love that too."

Jacob smiles, leaning down for a soft kiss.

"Thank you, Tro. But for the record I was just kidding."

"Well, don't. I need you to know how amazing you are every single day."

"Okay, got it. I'm amazing."

"You are. You are amazing." I pat his cheek. "I love you."

"I love you more, baby."

Comfortable silence settles over us for awhile. Nash hops onto the couch beside us for a cuddle, and falls asleep within a few minutes, snoring noisily.

"You wanna watch something?" Jacob squeezes my waist to get my attention. I look up at him.

"Like what?"

He shrugs. "You can pick, if you'd like."

I consider for a couple seconds. "I don't really have anything i want to watch. You can pick whatever you'd like."

He reaches out a long, nimble arm for the remote and switches the TV on.

"I have an idea." He tells me, clicking into Netflix.

"Uh oh, that's never a good thing with you."

"No no no, this is fine." He protests. "Did you ever see the movie Bird Box?"

I frown. "The one with all the memes from a couple years ago? No, I purposely avoided it."

"Yeah me too, but I want to watch it now. I want to finally understand all, don't you?"
