I am
Both you and them
It's a strange place to be
But I
Cannot
Deny itMy brown skin doesn't negate my
Desirable
Economic
StatusWell, at least not
In this caseI witness your home
Slip from your grasp
Into the palms of
Entitled
ChildrenI step to the left
Towards a place where the city won't bother to
Clean the
LitterWhere once white buildings become shades of grey
Funeral homes on every
Other
BlockTo my right there are two grocery stores within
A five block
RadiusBoutique cafes lathered in fresh coats of bright paint
Line
The polished
StreetsOh how it grows
Consumes
Engulfs
Demolish.I hate to say
Since my college days
I have been
I am
A part of it
