Louis was lying in his bed. He couldn’t get to sleep but didn’t want to disturb his parents and make them come upstairs unnecessarily, so he stayed quite. For a three year old Louis was very mature, he knew right from wrong, he knew how to behave himself. He knew what he was talking about and was very clever for his age.

He could hear the television on downstairs, and knew his parents were relaxing after a long day at the office, he knew his parents were important people were they worked, he also knew not to go downstairs when they had visitors, and not to leave any toys around, but yet he was always curious, he wanted to know what the meetings were about and why he was never allowed to be seen.

As Louis lay silently for an hour desperately trying to get to sleep he got a bit restless, getting out of his little bed he walked across to his window, which had a window seat under it, getting on to this he pulled a little blanket on him and rested into the cushions he looked out of his window. he was looking across at the park that his house faced, it was a place he was forbidden to go, he was not allowed out of the house, unless it was to Floo out of the fire place, Louis didn’t like the feeling of flooing, but he always knew they were going out for the day, so it was a process he was willing to take.

They would end up in a different house, a small one with only two bedrooms and two rooms downstairs, it was in a big town his parents called London, his parents would drink some horrible smelling drinks and change into two different people, but Louis knew not to question their appearances, it was the only way he would ever go out of the house.

Louis began to get sleepy, he was about to get off the window seat when he sent one last longing gaze to the park but was surprised to see that a man in a long black cloak and a hood that covered his face was standing there, right in the middle of the park, but he was certainly was not there a second previously. his curiosity got the better of him and he continued to watch him as he walked closer and closer to the house. Louis kept himself pressed into the cushions so the man could not see his, the click of the gate and the squeak of the hinges as it opened echoed through the quite street below, the gate clicked back and the man continued to the front door, Louis heard hushed panicked voices from the room downstairs and heard the television being switched off.

Louis jumped off the window seat and ran to his bedroom door, and opened it slowly and quietly, as a loud crash sounded and echoed around the house as the front door hit the wall and fell off its hinges. Louis walked down the hallway to the stairs at the end, passing his parents room he saw their wands sitting on the dresser, creeping bit by bit down the staircase he stopped half way down and peered around the corner.

He could see the man now walking towards his parents, who were standing together on the wall opposite the stairs. he saw the man move his hand to his face and with a bit of silver mist a mask had been removed, his parents obviously weren’t surprised to see it was this man. his father took hold of his mother’s hand and squeezed it, and he shifted slightly so he was in front of her, shielding her from this man.

The man walked towards his parents, laughing coldly, like a mad man. Louis shivered from the coldness of his voice, which made the hair on the back of his neck stick up.

‘Not so brave without your wands are you?’ said the man, Louis could almost feel him smiling as he said this. A single tear made its way out of his mother’s eye falling down her cheek. Louis fidgeted, his mother never cried. he began to feel nervous. The man chuckled sending another shiver down his spine.

‘So I have an idea, no, a game! Yes, let’s play a game. The games name you ask?’ the man paused as if thinking it through, ‘why revenge of course.’

his father shifted a few beads of sweat rolling down his temples. He moved even more in front of his wife and gulped.

‘Please, hurt me as much as you want, heck kill me if that’s your plan, but please, please don’t hurt my wife, he, he needs her!’

‘Well, that was pathetic, you’re pleading for your wife’s life, and you made no sense, Nervous are you? Know I’m too powerful? he needs her? God you are both pathetic excuses of purebloods, you’re what is wrong with this world. But you see I do plan on killing you.’ He paused and looked at them ‘both of you, you see I was quite attached to my parents, and since you killed them life just hasn’t been the same, they helped me choose the right path in life and for that they did not deserve to die, especially by two blood traitors, such as yourselves. But no need to procrastinate any more, you are both going to die tonight.’

Louis gasped silently, hoping for some miracle that this was all just some sick joke, and that this man that sent chills up his spine would just turn around and leave.

‘I’ve been searching for two years for you two, ever since the dark lord was sadly destroyed, you hid yourself well, but not well enough, you should not have put your trust in someone so weak, did you not learn from the potters? They chose the wrong person too, should have stuck with their first choice that Sirius Black, but pettigrew made a good spy, unfortunate what happened to him, he was very faithful to the dark lord.’ At this both of his parents eyes widened. The man continued speaking as if he hadn’t seen their reaction. ‘Granted your choice wasn’t death eater but he was incredibly week, he cracked after one measly cruciatus curse. Speaking of which, Crucio!’

A flash of light shot out of the mans wand an hit his father directly in the chest, he fell to the floor screaming and jerking in odd directions, his mother let out a strangled cry and more tears fell down his face Louis’s eyes widened and he felt revolted, how could this man hurt his father like this? The man laughed again before lifting the curse on his father, who shakily got to his feet, swaying slightly and sweating a lot, he took to his place guarding his wife from the abomination that was threatening his family. He squeezed her hand once more as a line of blood trickled down his chin from his mouth. The man stood there laughing, a cruel evil laugh that seemed to echo through the silent house. He took a step towards his parents, his father stepped back pushing his wife against the wall, silent tears still falling from his mother’s eyes. The man lifted his wand yet again,

‘I love you, Jay’ his father whispered quickly drawing gentle circles on his mother’s hand. The mans wand was pointed straight at his fathers chest

‘I love you too!’ sobbed his mother

‘Avada kadavra!’ cried the man in the hooded cloak, a flash of green light flashed out of his wand straight into his father’s chest, he crumpled to the floor in a heap, and a lone tear escaped his now dull and lifeless eyes, Louis screamed silently, tears pouring from his tiny eyes down his face, while his mother let out a strangled cry.

‘No!’ She screamed, The man laughed and lifted his wand. his mother closed his eyes, muttering inconsistent words,

‘Safe, Hogwarts, Dumbledore, Louis, Wizard.’ The man in the hood chuckled, and then bellowed the same cruel words that he had before.

‘Avada kadavra!’ there was another flash of green light and it hit his sobbing mother, just above her broken heart. she was silenced immediately, falling with a thud, on top of her husband, the tears she had been shedding, still damp upon her lifeless face. The man laughed and turned around to walk out the door, Louis held his breath, Grey piercing eyes, white blond hair and that evil smile.
