Louis woke up sweating slightly. Breathing slightly louder than usual he tried to calm himself down, his lungs hurt, and he was sure he had been screaming again. he looked around his little room.

The orphanage really was getting beyond repair, his room was only big enough for a bed a wardrobe and a desk, his chair was always kept under the little window, it was still black and Louis knew it was too early to go downstairs, so he got out of bed and went and sat on his chair by the window. resting his cheeks upon the cold window pane, cooling himself down. He peered at all the buildings around the orphanage. He didn’t like being in the city, it was depressing and he felt more imprisoned.

He sighed, and thought back to his dream, but he knew it wasn’t a dream, he had had the same dream since that hooded man had killed his parents, he walked over to his desk and pulled a pad of paper out whise he began to draw what he remembered, the flash of green light, his parents crumpled bodies, the laughing cruel face of the man that killed his parents, words that he remembered The Dark lord, Pettigrew, Pureblood, blood traitor, Avada kadavra, Dumbledore, Hogwarts, Sirius Black and Wizard.

He kept a note every time he had the dream. he always had it when he was angry or upset, which seemed to be everyday. The other orphans picked on him. They didn’t understand him. he was different. he was a wizard and he was proud of it, his mother told him that it was a good thing and that the Muggle’s or non-magic people got scared because they just did not understand. he still remembered his parents even though it had been seven years since they had died.

Louis was now ten and wanted to enjoy himself, to have fun. But when he felt trapped in a place he hated, it was very difficult.

The sun had come up so Louis decided he would go and have some breakfast before all the other children came downstairs. he put his pad and pencils back in the draw and looking at the only picture of him and his parents he had left, which was lying on his desk next to his bed. he opened his door walked down the stairs to the kitchen, helping himself to some toast. When he had finished his toast he was walking up the stairs and along the hallway to go into his room when four people blocked his path.

The one in front of him was the oldest girl in the orphanage, her name was Claudia, she was fifteen, she had been expelled from four schools and hung about in a group of boys down an alley smoking and stealing things. On his right was Mark her brother who was fourteen, he was just as bad as she was.

On her left was Stephen who always seemed to follow them around, he was also fourteen, next to Stephen stood the new boy, he had been there for three days, and it seemed like Claudia had planned on getting him involved in her bullying. His name was Harry and he was ten too. He looked utterly miserable, and Louis felt slightly sorry for him.

‘Well look who it is, it’s the screaming freak!’ Claudia said trying to sound intimidating, Louis was used to it and no longer was bothered by her. Louis sighed.

‘Let me get to my room’ he replied calmly taking a step forward but Claudia had a different idea.

‘So cry-baby tell us what the deal with you is, I mean your such a freak, what made you become one?’

‘None of your business, leave me alone and get back to hanging around on street corners to buy your next cigarette.’

‘How dare you!’ he snarled ‘Mark if you will do as we planned’

  ‘Bring it on’ growled Louis.

The boy mark grabbed the top of Louis’s arm and pulled his into his bedroom throwing him on the bed and sitting with his hand clamped over his mouth so he couldn’t talk, Claudia walked in followed by Stephen and a hesitant Harry just peeked around the door frame. Claudia walked towards Louis' desk. she opened the desk, and picked up his notepad, flipping through it despite Louis's protests.
