I woke with a jolt to a metal cage I was in it started to go up rapidly. I started to shout.
" Help somebody stop this thing," I cried with tears starting to pour down my face when I realised nothing was working I pulled my knees up to my chest and I tried to think of somehting else. Blank.
All I could remember was my name Sophie. I started to get a pain in my head with a memory.
" Sophia you are a daughter to me I am so proud of you," a blond haired woman said to me.
" Will it hurt," I said.
" No and you are the bravest kid i know out of these kids you are the best," She said.
" And Thomas and Teresa" I said and she nodded. Then a next memory came up.
" Terry I don't want to go and leave you and Thomas behind even though I will be with our friends its horrible," I said and she smiled with tears in her eyes.
" I don't want you to leave either but I promise we are going to find a cure," She said and smiled and I smiled and we hugged,
" Ok I need you to be ok for me and look after Thomas and you need to promise me we will be sisters for ever," I said about to burst out in tears.
" I will I promise," She said and a next memory came
" Soph baby I don't want you to go," He said while I was in tears in the crook of his neck.
" I don't want to go either," I said and I looked up to his eyes.
" Your going to forget me," He said and he started to cry.
" No I wont," I said while crying as our hands were clasped onto each other like nothing could break us apart.
" Remember I love you," He said and I was going to say it back but the memory stopped. Who is Thomas and Teresa.
The box had stopped and then the door opened. There were a bunch of teenage boys standing around me. Its like they had never seen a girl before in there life.
A blonde boy said " Its a girl,"
A dirt blonde boy then said " Why the hell would they said a girl here."
"how old is she," Someone asked.
" A female greenie," One of them snickered what the hell is a greenie.
" I call dibs," Someone said.
" You are not touching her, you shank?"
" Look at her, she is so hot," one of them said which made me feel really uncomfortable.
The blond haired guy was coming down so I quicklt found a knife in a supplies box and I held it infront of me.
" Whoa, easy now look I not going to hurt you we just want to talk." He said.
" Talk? You want to Talk? I want to know why I am here," I said and I looked up at the boys.
" Ok just hand us the knife and we can talk," He said and he held his hand out I hesitantly before I dropped the knife in his hands. The boys around us sighed thinking I was going to stab him.
" See that wasn't hard was that," The blonde haired boy said and I glared at him.
" Come on, " He said walking to the rope and I put my foot in it and they lifted me up.
" Greenie you are one tough shank," A black haired boy said.
" I have a name and what the hell is a shank," I said and the other boys were taken back that I remembered my name.
" You remember your name," The blonde haired boy said.
" Yeah its Sophie and you said to me that you would tell me where I am and why I am here," I said.
" Girls are so awesome," A thirteen year old boy said.
" Newt take her on a walk and tell her," A guy said.
" So Sophie this is the Glade your home," Newt said.
" I get that why is there massive walls around us its like a maze," I said and he chuckled.
" Your a smart Greenie," He said.
" I didn't want to be right," I said as we walked around the glade.
" So the box you came through does it every month with a new Glader and supplies," He said, " the maze that surrounds us closes in the night and opens in the morning."
" Hasn't someone tried to find a way out," I said.
" Well we have people called the runners who map out the maze which is Minho and Ben, Minho is the the leader of the runners," He said and I nodded.
"We need to find you a job,"He said as we walked passed people staring at me.
" Newt why are people staring at me," I said and he laughed.
" You see you are the only girl here and also we are all teenage boys who are hormonal," He said and I felt insecure," I won't let any of them touch you and also I am not going to lie love you are really pretty."
I blushed, " Thank you."
" So Alby is the leader he has been here the longest and if alby is not here its me who is the leader," He said.
" Ok so we have three rules do your job never harm another Glader and whats most important is never go beyond these walls," He said.
" Right ok so just be a morally good person," I said and he laughed.
" Sophie I think you will be good for us because we all our a family and we need some joy in our life's," He said and I smiled.
