The Young Captain Drea came lumbering into Corr's room late that night.

"Honey, I'm home," he said with an exhausted sigh as he leaned against the door to close it behind him.

Corr smiled sympathetically and walked over. "Rough meeting?"

Synyc nodded. "I had to lie for Jolie."

"Why?" He asked.

Synyc rubbed his temples in frustration.
"Nobody can know she turned until we figure out how to get this darkness out of her for good. I just said she killed General Fall with a damned blaster."

Corr's face fell into a sad smile and he wrapped Synyc in a hug.

"You're a great Captain," he said softly into his ear, "and an even better friend."

Synyc smiled and enjoyed the feeling of safety in Corr's arms. It was his favorite thing to come home to everyday.

Jolie went to her quarters to try and figure out her next plan. She was sprawled out on her bed, staring at the blank, cracking ceiling.

Will I ever be normal again?

She truly didn't know. She had always had a knack for pathfinding but for now she was blanking on where her own path was.

There was so much darkness and hatred in her heart. So much of her life had gone wrong that she barely had any light left. She only possessed enough to care for those around her— to make sure nobody ever feels the pain she's felt her entire life.

She heard a noise outside and suddenly shot up, looking around wildly. She had her arm out as if she was about to spring some Force related maneuver on her attacker.

But it was just the wind.

She sighed with relief when she saw pounding rain and wind outside.

Still, she jumped when she heard a knock at the door.

It's just Evander and Flint.

She could sense them.

"Come in," she said.

They came in and closed the door, but stopped in their tracks.

"You look like you just saw a ghost," Flint said. "Are you alright?"

She nodded. "Yeah. What's up?"

"What's up? Did you really just ask that?" Evander replied with some sarcasm. "We're here to help."

"With what?" She replied as she stood. "I'm a lost cause and a threat to everyone on the team. I'm gonna request a transfer to work on the assembly line here on base."

"You're what?!" Evander cried as he burst towards her, grabbing her arms.

"You heard me," she said defiantly. Evander release his grip and just looked crushed.

"We still have time before General Hextaar makes some tough choices," Flint insisted. "Later today we were going to talk to Corr and see if he knew of a possible solution."

"What can be do? Replace all of my blood so I don't have midichlorians anymore?" Jolie asked.

Evander shrugged. "I mean, that's kind of what we were thinking... If it's possible."

"And if it is then we're gonna make it happen," Flint added.

"You can try all you want but at the end of the day this is the direction the universe is pushing me in," and said flatly. "I can't be the reason you all die."
