Hey ole Friend, thanks for callin'
It's good to know somebody cares
Yeah she's gone, but I don't feel like talkin'
It might be just too much to bare
To hear somebody say it stops hurting
Or to hear somebody say she ain't worth it

He sighed and picked up his phone. He didn't want to talk to anyone, but he knew his friend wasn't going to stop blowing up his phone until he answered so he hit the accept button.

"Hey man, how ya doin?"

"I don't feel like talking."

"Yeah, I know, but it'll get better. It'll stop hurting and you'll find someone else. Someone worth it ya know."

"No. I don't. You don't know her like I do, Andre. You'll never understand. Jade and I have a long history. We've been through a lot together. Jade is my best friend and I want her back."

"Listen man-"

"No. There's no way you're gonna help me man. She's the only one who can make me feel better. I need Jade."

'Cause you don't know her like I do
You'll never understand
You don't know what we've been through
That girl's my best friend
And there's no way you're gonna help me
She's the only one who can
No, you don't know how much I've got to lose
You don't know her like I do

Before Beck hung up he said "You don't know how much I've got to lose." then he ended the call with his friend and moved a pillow over his face to muffle his loud groaning.

I can't forget, I'm drowning in these memories
It fills my soul with all the little things
And I can't cope, it's like a death inside the family
It's like she stole my way to breathe
Don't try to tell me it stops hurting
Don't try to tell me she ain't worth it

Beck couldn't help looking at Jade and saying "Hey" as she walked past him and their friends that morning. All it took was one look over at her for memories to flood his mind and drown him, it was like he couldn't breathe, but Andre and Tori didn't notice or even understand.

Tori just said the same stuff Andre told him the night before. "She isn't worth it, Beck. Don't let her ruin your day. Break ups stop hurting after a while and then you can move on."

Beck shook his head. "I'm never going to move on from Jade and she is worth it. You don't know her like I do. This isn't just a break up. She's my best friend and I lost her. You guys don't even understand how much I lost. I should've opened the door."

Beck walked off before they could respond. He didn't care to hear it.

You don't know her like I do
You'll never understand
You don't know what we've been through
That girl's my best friend
And there's no way you're gonna help me
She's the only one who can
No, you don't know how much I've got to lose
You don't know her like I do, like I do

'Cause you don't know her like I do
You'll never understand
You don't know what we've been through
That girl's my best friend
There's no way you're gonna help me
She's the only one who can
No, you don't know how much I've got to lose
No, you don't know how much I've got to lose
You don't know her like I do, like I do
Not like I do, not like I do, not like I do

Beck was walking to class when he bumped into Robbie and Cat.

"Hey man, uh, how are you?" Robbie asked. Cat bit down on her lip hard.

"Not good. I lost my best friend. I feel like there was a death in my family. Andre and Tori keep telling me it'll stop hurting and I'll move on, but-"

"You will. Jade isn't worth it. You're better off without that gank."

Cat gasped.

Beck glared at him. "You can't hide behind Rex anymore. We all know it's just you and you don't know Jade like I do. You will never understand."

You'll never understand
That girl's my best friend, that girl's my best friend
That girl's my best friend

Beck was about to walk off, but Cat stopped him. He turned back.

"You can get her back, Beck. She still loves you, but you didn't hear that from me." She held up a finger to her lips in a shush motion. "I can't give up my best friend's secret, but you know her and you know she still loves you. Just make sure she knows that you still love her. She has doubts."

Beck sighed. "I know. I know her."

That night while Beck was laying in his bed his phone went off.

They're fighting again. Cat said she is out with her parents right now so I can't go over there tonight.

Beck let a small smile cross his face. "Thank you Cat." He whispered.

You are always welcome here. I will always love you. I'll never stop.

He didn't get a reply, but he knew he didn't need one. She was on her way so he unlocked his RV and waited.

Soon enough Jade was coming into his RV with tears staining her cheeks. They both knew they didn't need words. He scooted over. She laid down beside him. He wrapped his arms around her. She laid her head on his chest. She cried herself to sleep. He kissed her head softly and told himself to never let her go again.

Despite what his friends thought he loved that dark girl because he knew the true her underneath the attitude.

They didn't know her, not like he did.
