The Villains

Meer.

I got some tea and went to Muhamad's tent .

' Come in! ' He said , smiling .

' Are you better? '

' Yeah I'm fine . A doctor came here in the morning and he said I'll be able to walk on my legs like I used to in 5 days or a week . '

' Thats great then . ' I smiled .

We were drinking tea in silence . I wanted to ask him about what he said the other day the ' I love you. ' . Did he mean it? I don't know I just wanted to ask him.

' Are you okay? ' He asked.

' Yeah I'm fine . ' I said smiling .

' Doesn't look like you are. '

I didn't answer him. I looked away , thinking .

' Muhamad , can I ask you a question ?'

' Sure . Go ahead.'

' Did you mean what you said the other day? The .. '

' I surely did. ' He interrupted me , smiling.

I smiled.

' Can I come in? '

It was Ahmad.

' Sure . ' Muhamad said.

' How are you guys? '

' We're both fine . ' Muhamad said , smiling .

' Great. Lilia , can I ask you a question ? ' Ahmad said.

' Sure. ' I said.

' What will happen to you if Rami knows that you're here? ' He asked.

I looked at Muhamad confused. And then I looked at Ahmad.

' He will kill me. ' I said.

' Ugh damn. ' Ahmad said.

' Why are you asking? ' Muhamad said.

' Um. I heared Meer talking to Younis.' Ahmad said.

' Eh? ' Me and Muhamad said.

' He was asking him when he can go back to the city and Younis asked him why. He said that he wants to see his family and .. '

He stopped talking.

' And what Ahmad? ' I said.

' See Rami and tell him about you and then they'll come back together and Rami can get you. ' Ahmad said.

I looked at Muhamad with teary eyes . I didn't know what to say I was speechless . Why ? Why would Meer do something like this? I haven't done anything to him!

' I'm sorry , Lilia. ' Ahmad said.

' No , don't be. Thank you for telling me . ' I said and he left.
I felt empty and alone.

' Don't cry Lilia. ' Muhamad said.

' What should I do ? He'll find me and he'll kill me. Thats it. '

' No . I wont let him kill you! We'll find something . Go to your tent now , I'll see you at night. ' He said.

I walked out of his tent. My body was in a place , mind in another , and my heart was taken over by him. Muhamad.

It was twelve A.M.

I couldn't sleep , the only thing I could do was think . I sat outside and then I saw Muhamad. He sat next to me .

' You've to run away. ' He said.

' Where should I go? '

' Ugh. And I can't even take you to my house. '

Ahmad came.

' What are you going to do ? ' Ahmad asked.

' I have no idea. Muhamad says that I have to run away but I don't know where should I go. ' I said.

' And she can't go to my house. ' Muhamad said.

' I have an idea. ' Ahmad said.

' What? ' Me and Muhamad shouted.

' You can go to my house. I will come with you and I'll be able to see my family too. ' Ahmad said.

' Are you sure? ' I asked.

' Yes , Lilia. ' Ahmad said .

' Thank you. A lot! ' I said , smiling .

He left.

' Why did you fall for me , Muhamad? ' I asked , with eyes filled with tears.

' I'll leave you after a day or two . God knows when. ' I said .

' I'm a mess that no one can handle. I have no family or friends. I cry most of the time , over the simplest things and people say you always act like a baby. My parents , I never did something to make them proud. They always made fun of me and chose Rami over me. No one would love to cope with such a mess. '
' I'd love to cope with such a mess. ' He said , wiping my tears away.

' I'll leave soon , Muhamad. '

' And I'll come with you. I wont leave you alone. ' He said.

And in that moment , hugging him was all I wanted.
