The bell was ringing, I woke up.
I ran and opened the door and there was a guy standing .
He looked at me.
'Are you Mr. Abdula's daughter ?' He said.
'Yes! Why?'
'I just came back from the mountains.'
'Eh?'
'And Rami asked me to tell you that ..'
'Tell me what ?'
'I'm sorry about your dad.'
I was shocked. My breathing hitched . Can this be a dream? A lie ? Anything but not reality . My dad? I lost him now ? Forever ? No please. He was my everything . He was my strength in this life, I can't live without him.
My mum came and she started talking to the guy . All I could do was cry .
I couldn't accept that fact. My father was gone now, forever. I wont see him again.
And how am I supposed to live now ? With my brothers ? Huh .
Miserable, we were.
Rami came back after two days. And he was fine.
*****
After one week.
My dad lived with me. I cried myself to sleep every night . I wasn't really okay and I didn't eat well, I was sick.
I woke up and Rami saw me.
'Where did you go the other day? My mum told me.' He said.
'To the park.'
'Lies.'
'Shut up.' I shouted.
All I could feel was a hand on my checks. Slapping me as hard as he could.
I ran to my room and spent the night crying.
My mom ? She didn't even care. She got his back no matter what.
Days and weeks passed.
He hit me everyday. And I could do nothing about it.
Half of my face was purple and blue because of his punches and slaps.
I was so tired that I wanted to die.
But that'd make Rami happy, and I don't want him to be happy.
'Enough.' I said to myself.
