Chapter 5: "The Atlantean Temple"

"POV: Corpion"

stared down at the pyramid that was the Atlantean Temple and wondered to myself. I saw John as he approached the temple and it hummed for a few seconds changing from it's bluish color to a purplish tint then turning to its original color again. John backed up and put his hand on his head scratching, thinking I suppose. I then made my way over to it but Jami entered my path and said "So you are my twin?" I stepped back and looked her up and down. I noticed she had just a bit of height on me maybe an inch and I was about 5'11'. I said "Yea I'm a Scorpio but were definitely not twins." She looked over to Ayinde saying "Well he's the first you've ever brought to me so I guess that'd make him my twin right?" Ayinde looked at me and nodded motioning for me to follow Jami. Jami asked me what I knew of the water element that resided within me. I told her the story of the Traveler. She then said "So you have some form of control over the water? I only really use it when it seems necessary." She then told me to follow her to the pyramid and as we approached it began to hum wildly. Ayinde placed his hand on the table it rested upon and it lifted up off of it until it was at about eye level. Its' blue was slowly being taken over by a golden color, the same color nearly as those I have seen in pictures of a gold bar only as if it were absorbing the sun's rays and reflecting off what it could not yield. Jami then held my hand after grasping Ayinde's free hand. Her eyes began to shine with golden light and as it filled her eyes she looked to Ayinde again and began to lift off the floor. I was being carried up with her and noticed John sat down and watched closely as if he'd seen this process before. Just then the pyramid finished its conversion from blue to gold and Jami touched the pyramid just as Ayinde did. So I too reached for it but it began to wobble and spin slightly. They both looked at me and the blue and gold light emanating from their eyes blinded me and then I was gone.

 I opened my eyes to see nothing but walls and a ceiling very high up. It was quite dark except for some light coming from in front of me. There was a scorpion of immense size inhabiting a pond that did not need earth to ground itself in. I spoke "Where am I and what are you?" No answer is what I received and I quickly became annoyed. The golden scorpion's tail lifted up out of the water but the water did not drop down its tail. It floated in the air around the tail. I became a bit puzzled as I didn't understand why it was I was being shown this. I decided to ask in a different manner. I reached my hand up and willed the first large droplet over to me. The scorpion seemed to react to this, changing its position completely so that its back was to me. Angered I gave up on a display of water and focused my energy into my fingertip aiming at all the floating droplets. I focused hard and shot a spiraling flame that evaporated the droplets instantly. I hadn't realized that it'd hit the scorpion and when this happened it spun around pretty damn fast. I heard a hum like the same one that resonated from the pyramid, like thunderclap and the cry of an eagle and turned to see Ayinde and Jami standing behind me eyes still glowing.
