Before I can even blink, Damon has pushed me away and leapt on Sam. I fell on the floor and watched helplessly as Sam was being beaten.
Sam swung a couple of times but Damon easily blocked them and punched him harder. I heard a crack and saw blood gushing from Sam's nose.
I finally was released from my frozen state and jumped into action. I grabbed onto Damon's shoulders and he tensed. His punches stopped and all his fury was shifted to me.
I started to back away. Every step he took towards me, I took a step back. Sam was unconscious on the floor. I knew I couldn't help at the moment.
"How dare you mate." I knew Damon wasn't speaking, it was his wolf. His eyes were black and fangs were extended. Growls were coming from his mouth nonstop.
"I-I don't belong to y-you." I stuttered like the submissive wolf I am. I'm backed into the wall and Damon in less than a foot away.
"That's where you are wrong." He suddenly grabs my neck and all I feel is pain. My head was spinning and I can feel what I assume is blood, soaking into my shirt. The pain was unimaginable. My screams filled the room. Can no one hear me?
My legs go limp and the only thing supporting me is Damon. Colored dots cloud my vision and I can't remember anything besides the pain.

My neck is sore when I wake up. I sit up and realize I'm in my room. How did I get here? Ryder brought us up silly! Audrey replied. Wait... Audrey is back!
I didn't want to believe what I knew had happened. I stood up and went to the bathroom. My neck looked irritated and bruised. It wasn't a pretty sight. Marks are supposed to be beautiful and meaningful.
Mine was ugly and meaningless. There was no love behind this mark. I never gave consent for this bite mark to be a part of me. There was no way I could cover it with makeup.
I wore my hair down and headed to the kitchen. Another omega was cleaning blood of the floor where Sam was beaten to a pulp.
Poor Sam had no chance. Not to be rude but his strength was no match for an Alpha's. I feel horrible because it was my fault. I shouldn't have put him through this. How was I supposed to know Damon would go batshit crazy? He doesn't want me. Or so I thought.
I lost my appetite and headed back upstairs. All the events that have happened were on my mind. I was so confused about my mark. Did Damon want me or just his wolf. His wolf is perfect. Damon is the problem. Audrey was right.
Damon's wolf likes me, but his human form doesn't. He must be going through hell. He isn't the only one.
As I'm walking up the stairs, Bree is walking down. She looks well put together like always. I hear her take a deep breath through her nose and her eyes dart to my neck. Her eyes start to water and before I know it, I'm at the bottom of the stairs again.
My cheek stings and my body aches. She runs back up the stairs. Probably to confront Damon. I lay on the floor and make no move to get up. What had I done to deserve this much pain?
My arm is numb and my foot feels broken. I try to crawl and find help but I realize I'm bleeding. I don't have time to find the source before I'm picked up.
Sparks are shooting up my back. I know who it is, but I can't look at him. I called for his wolf. Thanks Audrey, just what I needed. Note the sarcasm.
The silence is broken when he speaks up. "What did you say to Bree?" I want to laugh at his question but I hold myself back.
"I didn't say anything." He growls and sets me down on one of the pack doctor's beds.
"Then why was she upset and how did she find out?" I roll my eyes. Is he that blind?
"If you haven't noticed, I have a huge bruise on my neck and I smell like you. I didn't have to say anything." He looks at my neck and a frown forms on his face. I don't know if he is angry at himself or me.
Probably me because I can't seem to do anything right.
"I regret marking you. My wolf took control. I wish I could take it back." His words were like knives being thrown at me.
"Do you think I wanted you to mark me? You should learn to control your wolf better." I cross my arms trying to act tough. "What happened to Sam?" His eyes go black for a split second.
"He is where he belongs, in the dungeon."
"I kissed him! He shouldn't be punished for something I made him do." His eyes snap to mine. They hold no emotion.
"I don't care. He kissed back and that's all that matters." He is about to lose control.
"I don't belong to you. I'm not your property. I was your mate but you ruined that." Every word was laced with venom. He growled ran his hands through his hair.
"I love Bree. But I can't stay away from you. You're always there. My thoughts always go to you and it drives me insane. I'm going crazy because I don't want you to be on my mind every second of the day!" He is breathing heavy. "I find myself standing outside your bedroom door because I can't sleep. You're in my dreams. The moon goddess is punishing me in the worst way possible."
"I..." I have no words. What do you say to something like that. A single tear falls and I wipe it away quickly. His words hurt but I now knew I wasn't the only one feeling like this.
"Please leave me alone." I tell him.
"I wish I could."
"Please go." And with that he left me.
I don't know why, but some part of me wanted him to stay.
