The worst part of me running away, was that he didn't chase after me. It sounds so cliche, but I wanted him to run for me and make me listen. Instead, Damon just stood there like the dumbass he is.

I ran for a few minutes and then started to walk. The pack house was my destination until I thought about Damon being there. I strolled through the forest for a few hours. It's nice to be alone sometimes. Audrey was still upset and whining in the back of my head. I was upset, too. Then, I remembered I'm stronger than Damon.

I headed back to the pack house and headed up to my room. I grabbed  the blue duffel bag from my closet. I threw my essentials in the bag and tossed it over by the door. I changed into all black clothing and tennis shoes.

Instead of hiding, I'm running. I'm running away from my pack. I'm running from Bree and the others who made me miserable. I'm running from Damon.

I grab the bag and throw it over my shoulder. It's pretty late, so I leave my room quietly. I'll miss my room, my bed most of all.

I make it out of the pack house without being spotted. The territory is pretty large, so I have to move fast. I dodge limbs and bushes and finally make it to the border. Once I cross, I know Damon will feel it. Would he come searching for me? Maybe.

I step over the border, and feel my pack ties diminish. I'm breathless for a second, and then I start sprinting.

A loud howl is heard in the distance. Damon definitely felt it. I stripped and threw my clothes in the duffel bag. I shifted and ran. Audrey didn't protest my decision to leave. She helped me run faster. Multiple howls sounded closer than I would like.

I came across a creek, and rolled around in it to cover my scent. Damon will still be able to smell it, but the other wolves should have trouble.

I begin running again. My legs were burning and my heart was pounding. I haven't ran this much in a long time.

Not having a plan on where I was going wasn't the best idea. I will admit this decision wasn't thought out. Where will I go? Damon can find me anywhere.

The sounds of paws beat against the ground behind me. Audrey pushes us as fast as we can go. It wasn't fast enough because I was tackled to the ground.

The wolf on top of me backs away and shifts. The rest of the group follow. My breathing is labored and I don't get up off the ground.

"Shift now!" The man who tackled me said.

I whimpered and did want he commanded. I quickly threw on the clothing I had in the bag.

"You crossed into the wrong territory, she-wolf."

Damon's POV

The night was going perfectly. We were having a great time, until Bree walked in. Bree hated Dean's and she has the audacity to show up here.

My blood boiled when she winked at me. My wolf was livid. There was a man behind her, and she obviously brought him to try and make me jealous. How can I be jealous when my soul mate is sitting right across from me?

I see movement in front of me and my trance was broken away from Bree. Mabel was leaving the table.

"Where are you going?" She doesn't answer, and runs out. I quickly run after her. "Mabel wait! What's wrong?"

"What's wrong is that you still love her!" No I don't! But those words never make it out of my mouth. "I thought you were over her but obviously I was mistaken." No everything she is saying is wrong. "Goddess I'm such an idiot!"

She runs away and I don't chase after her. She isn't the idiot, I am. I go back and pay for the food. Maybe she needs time to cool down. Then I can explain everything.

I head back to the pack house and knock on her door. I don't get an answer, which isn't surprising. "Mabel please! You have it all wrong."

I try to open the door and it isn't locked. Her room was a mess. Clothes were thrown around the room and she wasn't there. I search for her scent and follow it.

My chest burns and my heart hurts. She left me. She left the pack. My wolf lets out a howl full of sadness, anger, and betrayal.

I call a few pack members and we start running after her. She can't be too far from the territory. The only problem is, if she keepers heading the direction her scent is going, she'll run into the neighboring pack. We are technically allies, but we stay off of their land and they stay off of ours. The Alpha and I had a written treaty to leave each other alone until we needed assistance.

The Alpha, Alpha Xavier, is young like me. He took the position a year after I did. He made a great choice when he decided to sign the treaty.  He is a understanding guy, but a Luna trespassing into his territory, without permission, might not go well. It might be taken as an act of war.

We push harder and finally make it to the border. I tell the others to stay back. I can handle myself outside of the territory.

I follow her scent, and sure enough, she crossed into Alpha Xavier's territory. I mind link my beta and tell him to call the Xavier. I told my beta what happened. "I'll get right on it, Alpha."

I sit waiting at the border. If I cross, the treaty will be broken and I might lose Mabel forever.

There was a rustle in the bushes and a group of wolves emerge. Xavier is one of them. I smell Mabel before I see her. She is behind the whole group with her head hung low. Xavier shifts, and is given some shorts. I shift and stand there fully nude.

"Alpha Damon, I see you lost your mate."

"You'll hand her over or the treaty will mean nothing." I snap back.

"Don't get your panties in a twist." He chuckles. "Please, don't lose her in my territory again."

Mabel is slightly pushed in my direction. I should feel relieved, but all I can feel is sadness. She wasn't happy and that's made me upset.

All I want is for her to be happy.
