Percy and Katie sneaked into the Common Room, knowing it was well over curfew. They had a hard time finding the Hufflepuff Common Room, since it wasn't in a tower like Ravenclaw and Gryffindor or in the dungeons like Slytherin.
It was hard to find, but Percy was glad the Hufflepuff Common Room was near the kitchens. Maybe he could grab a snack every now and then without travelling to the Great Hall.
They entered the Common Room, finding a few Hufflepuff students accompanying each other in the warmth of the fire, all of them huddled up in blankets.
Percy smiled softly at the younger students as Katie wished them all goodnight. Some responded, waving politely while others nodded, sinking further into the soft sofas of the Hufflepuff Common Room.
Percy took a shower once he was in his dorm, and with his hair still wet and body clean and dry, he flopped onto his bed, wearing a faded Camp Half-Blood T-shirt and shorts as sleeping clothes.
He realised his roommates were all awake, speaking to each other in hushed tones. He wished he could've joined them, but he didn't even know them. He had neglected to socialise during the Welcoming Feast, and it wasn't like their names were announced in front of the whole school.
Unlike Percy, his roommates knew about him. They knew his name and even made assumptions on him. His status was already set the moment they saw him with Harry, but with the sorting chaos, Percy became even more popular.
Unwilling to start a conversation with his roommates, Percy buried himself under the soft duvet, falling asleep immediately.
Finally settling into the chair behind his desk, Nico stretched, looking around him as he wondered if he had made the right choice to stay in Hogwarts.
He knew that the longer he stayed, the more monsters he would attract, and it would be inconvenient for the others.
He wished he had said he would return to Camp Half-Blood, instead of informing McGonagall that he accepted her offer of teaching in Hogwarts.
He opened the door at the back of the office that lead to a bedroom, locking it behind him.
He lay on the bed, tossing and turning as sleep couldn't seem to catch up with him. He assumed it was because he had spent so long questing and doing other stuff that he had forgotten what it was like to sleep on a proper bed. Even when he was at Camp Half-Blood, he couldn't get comfortable.
With Nico's gaze out the window, observing the stars, his breathing became even, his eyelids drooping.
And so, Nico di Angelo slept.
"How is everything going, sir?"
Nico jumped as he heard voices, but couldn't see any faces. He squinted, trying to see in the darkness. Apparently being a child of Hades didn't include night vision.
"Don't be impatient, Malfoy, it will take time until I attack," another voice said, bringing Nico's eyes to widen. Wasn't there a student named Malfoy in his house? Who was this man, and when would he attack?
Nico stumbled, catching himself as he leant forward too much, clutching to every word the two people were saying.
"My plan hasn't been fully developed yet. I need to make sure I'll go unnoticed when I attack."
"Of course you'll fit in, sir. Especially with the crowd of students. You'll blend right in," Malfoy said, mockery in his tone. Nico was caught off guard for a second or two.
"This person is quite young..." Nico thought to himself. Then, his words replayed in his mind and Nico snorted. He was around the same age as the evil guy.
