Percy awoke the next day, having experienced good dreams, which were near impossible for him.
At first, he thought it was meant to show that he was going to have a good time at Hogwarts. Maybe he was going to make some new friends, learn some cool stuff or even spend some quality time with Annabeth there.
But he soon realised, that maybe that wasn't it.
Maybe the reason he had all those good dreams of New Rome, Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood were the Fates trying to remind him of all the things he couldn't have, simply because he was a demigod.
The thought made him upset, knowing that his dreams would have to wait.
He didn't tell this to anyone, though, for fear that he would be labelled as weak.
He knew his friends wouldn't judge him, but he never felt comfortable talking about his feelings.
He had talked about it a few times, one of them being with Jason, but he knew he shouldn't talk about it, because it made people uncomfortable.
He didn't want to worsen the situation, so he always put on a smile and goofed around, pretending to be okay, much like Leo did.
He stopped his thoughts when they wandered off to Leo. Whether he was alive or not, Percy didn't know, and that made him frustrated.
He felt as if his friend went on a long trip without telling him, and they had no ways of contact.
"This is probably what Annabeth felt like when Hera kidnaped me," he thought, a frown on his face.
Percy shook his head, snapping out of his thoughts. He got ready and packed all his things in a luggage, because apparently he was going to be staying at Hogwarts for nearly a year.
He headed out of the Poseidon Cabin and towards the Big House, no doubt that he was the last to arrive, and he was right.
"Late again, Seaweed Brain. Why am I not surprised?" Annabeth smirked.
"It's just the way I am," he shrugged.
"Okay, settle down. The Wizarding World is a weird place, so I'm going to need you to listen up," Chiron said. "Let's start with how to get to Diagon Alley..."
An hour passed, and Chiron was finally done explaining most of the details of the Wizarding World. It was already 8am, so they travelled to Diagon Alley as soon as possible, thanks to Nico's shadow travel- although Will was against it.
"Woah," Percy gasped as they reached Diagon Alley, the place crowded as ever.
"Let's hurry. Chiron said we needed to get our wands first, since they are the most important." Katie said, her eyes scanning the crowd.
"I guess I'll follow you," Nico mumbled. "Will said to have at least two days between each shadow jump."
"It's okay if you tag along," Annabeth assured. "I think Ollivander's shop is there."
The five demigods squeezed through the crowd, finally making their way to the shop.
They entered, and Ollivander's place was unusually empty, the wandmaker nowhere to be seen.
"Hello? Mr Ollivander?" Annabeth called out.
"Hey... Look at all these wands! They look expensive," Travis whispered, reaching out to one of the boxes.
"Young man, I'm afraid I can't allow you to steal these wands," Ollivander said calmly. "After all, the wand chooses the wizard."
Travis grinned and stepped next to Katie, who smacked him for attempting to take one of the sticks.
"Now, lets see what wands will be most suitable for each of you," Ollivander mused, his eyes focused on Katie. "You'll go first. Tell me your name."
"Uh... I'm Katie."
"Right. Godly parent?" he asked casually as he looked through the shelves of boxes.
"Wha-" Percy started, his hand reaching for the pen in his back pocket.
"No need to kill me with your sword," Ollivander sighed. "I've met demigods before, and I'm a Roman demigod myself."
"Oh," Katie said, appearing more comfortable now that she knew she was talking to a fellow child of the gods. "I'm a child of Demeter."
"Okay, let's see..." Ollivander trailed off, pulling aside three boxes. "This one is madrone, demiguise hair core, twelve inches. I would say it's quite wishy."
Katie tried the first wand, giving it a wave, but it seemed the wand did not like her as Ollivander's mug broke into tiny pieces.
"Not that one, I suppose," Ollivander mumbled, not sounding surprised. "Try this. Maple, werewolf whisker core, nine 1/2 inches. Fairly flexible."
Katie waved the wand skeptically, afraid that something was going to go wrong again.
The smell of the strawberry field on a hot summer day in Camp Half-Blood filled the room, a warm feeling spreading across Katie's body.
"Yes. This is the one for you," Ollivander smiled. "Now, the Hermes child."
"How did you know?" Travis asked, confused.
"I know a thief when I see one," Ollivander said, waving off the question. "Ah, this should be it. Mahogany, billywig stinger core, eleven inches and sturdy."
Travis gave the wand a flick. It immediately felt warm on his fingertips, and the room looked a little brighter. He smiled.
"I like this one."
"That one is especially good for mischief. Use it well," Ollivander winked. "Next, the girl."
Annabeth stepped up, her grey eyes wandering across the room, watching as Ollivander searched for a wand for her.
"Child of Athena, no? I'll see what I can do," he muttered to himself.
Annabeth tried a few wands, but none of them worked for her.
"Alright, try this one. Fir, 1/4 chimaera scale fragment and dragon heartstring core, ten inches. Sturdy."
Annabeth didn't even need to wave the wand, because the moment it made contact with her skin, moments with percy replayed in her mind, sending warmth throughout her body.
"We're left with the two children of the Big Three. I can almost feel the powerful aura you two give out."
"Actually, I'm not getting a wand. Percy's the last one," Nico said uncomfortably.
"Very well, though I do have a suitable wand for you in mind. If you ever need one, I'll be happy to give it to you," Ollivander frowned. "Percy, is it? I'm assuming you're a child of Poseidon. Finding your wand will be hard."
Percy went through so many wands, he felt like his arm was going to fall off. Even Ollivander, who normally looked calm, seemed stressed that he couldn't find the perfect wand, constantly muttering to himself as he paced around the room
Once again, Percy flicked his wand, but it was quick to show that it did not belong to Percy as boxes and boxes of wands fell off the shelf. He groaned inwardly as he had yet to find his wand. If he thought Annabeth took long, he was taking much longer.
"Yes, this should do the trick for you," Ollivander said, a tired smile on his face. "Applewood, mermaid hair core, twelve inches. Also quite sturdy."
Percy prayed to the gods that the wand would work, for he was getting impatient.
He waved his wand, and sure enough, the room smelt like the ocean, and Percy felt waves of warmth crash into him.
He had found his wand.
A/N: I used the book Kwikspell to find each core and wood for the demigods, so you can refer to that to find the qualities of each of their wands, and figure out why I chose them :)
