Halies POV

Today didn’t go as bad as the others, it was pretty decent. All day, I’ve been thinking of going to talk to Elena and sort this out and that’s where I’m heading right now. I saw her across the corridor standing next to Ariana. Oh how surprising. She turned to face me as I saw Ariana whisper something in her ear and then they both started laughing. I instantly lowered my head down feeling insecure but I thought it was time I talked to her. As I walked towards her Ariana turned to walk away leaving me and Elena alone.

“Hey” I said quietly as I waved at her unsure of what her reaction would be since she’s been avoiding me since forever.

“Halie, I’m sorry, but we can’t talk, I know I’m supposed to be your best friend but as my best friend you would care for my reputation and leave me alone. “She said, I got really pissed off at this and chose to hold my anger in at the moment. The anger soon turned to tears.

“How could you say this, you’ve been my best friend since we were 2, we are technically sisters I need you especially at a time like this when I have no one but Mason, my mum and Jayden.” I said looking into her eyes as tears slid down my cheek. I could see no emotions in her eyes.

“I’m sorry Halie.” She said as she turned to walk away.

“No, I’m sorry that I ever considered you my best friend. “ I said as I rushed out of school and towards Mason’s car.

“Halie are you okay?” He asked me with a concerned look on my face.

“Yeah , I’m fine.” I said wiping the tears of my face, mainly because I hate feeling weak.

“No, you’re not.” He whispered as he hugged me for comfort.

As soon as I arrived home I went to the kitchen to comfort eat because food is your friend. Food doesn’t talk behind you. Food doesn’t leave you when you need it the most. Food doesn’t spread rumours about you or believe the rumours.  I rushed to my room with food in both my hands and ate my feelings when I heard someone come into my room. I turned to see Mason sit beside me.

“Halie, it’s okay, If Elena’s going to treat you like that she doesn’t deserve you. You’re much better than that, besides you have me and I’m the best.” He said as he put an arm on my shoulder. I’m so glad I have a brother like him even if he is vain at times. I chuckled at his last comment about himself.

“Oh my god she laughs.” He said making a shocked expression. I laughed along with him and then he started to sing the SpongeBob parody I always used to sing to try to make me feel better

“F is for friends who talk shit behind you, You is for U O E N O,…” He grinned at me.

“N is for never trust a nigga or a hoe cuz them motherfuckers scheming on the low.” I finished off , feeling better.

“Yay, now come downstairs I got you taco bell to make you feel better.” I instantly got up thanking him on the way and rushed downstairs. I feel much better now.

“Mason, Halie, finish off eating and then go fix up. The Sprayberrys are coming over for dinner.” My Mum commanded. My heart sank and I felt like shit once again. Mason looked at me and then back at mum.

“Mum, I don’t think it’s a good time to have them over.” Mason said trying to convince my mum.

“No, It’s fine.” I said giving mason a look that said ‘Don’t tell her anything.’ Mainly because I didn’t want her to worry about me she has enough to worry about. Mason understood and turned to walk away.
