Genesis- the origin or mode of formation of something,
the beginning, creation, emergence, evolution etc.December 25, 1996
"Merry Christmas mom!" Mykah embraced her mother with open arms at her front door.
"Merry Christmas MyMy." Genesis hugged her daughter back tightly, taking in her warmth and presence.
Letting her daughter go, Genesis stepped to the side so Mykah could come into the toasty three story home. "I know you're probably cold, come inside."
Mykah stepped inside her old home and sat her bags at the floor. The familiar nostalgic smell of vanilla bean candles and frankincense incense invaded her nostrils as soon as she stepped into the foyer. She took a deep breath and smiled. It was good to be home.
"Mom, I missed you!" Mykah embraced her mother for the second time, catching her off guard. Genesis chuckled softly and patted her daughters back.
"I missed you more baby." She grabbed her arms from around her neck and stepped back so she could take a good look at her. Maybe the freshman 50 was indeed true. Before Mykah left for college in August, she had a small frame but she was still tall and slender. Now, Mykah had grown thicker in the legs and thighs and her hips had widened a bit.
"Look at you... you look good baby doll." Genesis looked her daughter up from head to toe and nodded her head approvingly.
Mykah blushed. "Thank you mom. I've been working out a lot lately, trying to get my body together for this spring break trip..."
Mykah words started to turn to gibberish as Genesis seen a man approach her open door. He had on black shiny Gucci glasses and a polo sweatsuit under his black puffer jacket. On his feet where a pair of wheat Timberland boots and his Guess watch nearly blinded her. He was sitting down more luggage and going back to his car. A 1990 Mercedes Benz G- Wagon.
She couldn't take her eyes off of him. "Who's that fine young man?" Genesis whispered eyeing him intensely.
"Oh him." Mykah blushed again and shrugged. "Just my boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?" She raised her eyebrow.
"Yeah... I was going to surprise you, I hope you're not mad."
Genesis glanced at her daughter and squeezed her hand tightly. "Of course I'm not. Not mad at all..." her voice trailed off as she said the last sentence.
"Well come on I want you to meet him." Mykah pulled her mothers hand towards the open door and began to call the guys name.
"Mason! You can stop. I want you to meet my mother."
Mason... that was his name.. Genesis licked over her lips and brushed a piece of hair behind her ear. Mason looked up from grabbing the bag, closed the door, and locked it before strolling back up the walkway.
And his walk... gah lee.
"Mason, this is my mother Genesis, mom this is Mason, my boyfriend." Mykah introduced them to one another and Mason swiftly took off his glasses. His hazel eyes were now visible in the light, and they were beautiful. She couldn't help but her lost in them. They were so deep and-
"Ma'am. Nice to finally meet you." He took her warm hand and bought it up to his plump lips and kissed it gently while staring her down.
"What a gentlemen." Genesis nudged Mykah and she just smiled. "But please, call me Gen sugar."
