Continued.
"So, how did you guys meet." Genesis asked the couple as she poured herself a glass of wine. It was the finest and most expensive she had in her home. It cost her in the 800 dollar range to purchase it, but that didn't bother Genesis. She had all this money and didn't know what to spend it on."Mom." Mykah looked at her mothers full glass and back at her. Oh god. Not this shit.
"Yes?" She bought the glass up to her soft red lips and took a gulp. A huge one at that.
"Really?" Mason looked between Mykah and Genesis not knowing what they were talking about but he assumed it was something to do with the wine.
"I'm just having one drink Mykah." Genesis waved her off and rolled her eyes. "This is the first one I've had all day. And plus, it's Christmas. Ain't nothing wrong with getting a little tipsy on Jesus birthday. I'm drinking His blood anyway."
Mykah scoffed and sat back on the couch with her arms folded across her chest. She couldn't believe mother was acting a fool in front of her new boyfriend.
"But you never did answer my question." She swirled her cup around and sat back into the couch.
"We met at my basketball game." Mason spoke up and Genesis adverted her attention to him. "Basketball huh? Impressive." She smirked and took another sip of her drink. Brushing her red hair behind her ear she scanned his lower body but didn't see a print. She pouted. Bummer.
"I guess you can say that." Mason chuckled and took a glance at Genesis before looking down at his watch. He couldn't look into her eyes because he felt as thought she was staring into his soul.
"MyMy I didn't even know you liked basketball." Mykah cut her eyes at her mother. "You don't know a lot of stuff about me mother." She snapped and an awkward silence fell in the room.
"Um." Mason cleared his throat. That was odd. "So like.. what do you do for a living?" He asked trying to steer the conversation into another lane.
"I'm an entrepreneur. I own my own restaurant." She stated proudly, her eyes twinkling at him in the process. God. This man was too fine.
"Really? Mykah you never told me that." Mason looked at his girl and she just shrugged. "You never asked."
"Yeah, I can throw down." She smirked cockily. In the bedroom too.
"I have some food put away if you're hungry." Genesis suggested and put her glass down."Sure that sounds-"
"Actually..." Mykah interrupted and stood up. She grabbed Mason's hand making him stand up also. "We were planning on getting something to eat already. "
Genesis eyed her and shrugged. "Why spend all that money when you can just eat at home? Come on y'all." Genesis got up and walked into the kitchen. Mason looked at Mykah and raised his eyebrow.
"What's your problem?"
"She's my problem. " Mykah said through clenched teeth.
"How is your own mother your problem?" Mason asked her. He was slightly confused.
"She doesn't act like this on a regular basis. She's not showing her true colors. Wait until you get to know her though. She's a fuckin' maniac. "
"Mykah.... I love you but you're trippin' right now seriously. All she's doing is offering us food. Take a chill pill. " He placed her hand in her cheek but she slapped it down.
"Take a chill pill? That bitch is evil! She -"
"Yo... that's enough." He put his hand up to stop her. "Bitch? That's disrespectful. You need to cool off." Mason turned on his heels and walked into the kitchen.
Mykah was fuming. He didn't know her mother. He didn't know what she was really like. He didn't know what she went through as a kid. He didn't know her true personality. All of this shit was just a facade. Genesis was the definition of an evil bitch.
"Mykah, honey! Your food is getting cold!" She heard her mother call from the kitchen.
Yeah right, honey my ass.
