Chapter Four: Smooth Criminal
"Look at the bright side, now you have more time to study."
Ro was not amused and clearly showed it with his glare at Dex behind his hair fringe.
It was already morning and they were outside of the principal's office. Being sent to the Principal's office on a Monday morning was bad enough, but it was made worse when Ro was dressed as Valdosta College's mascot; a Velociraptor. Which, unfortunately for him, smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned since the days of the dinosaurs.
Not to mention that the reason he's in this situation in the first place is dressed in a Michael Jackson costume she had stolen from the drama department. The students who had caught her hadn’t even given her the decency to change before being sent to meet their doom. "Come on Ro. Say something."
"This is all your fault."
"I did say to run. I didn’t mean to run after the professor in a dinosaur suit."
"I was trying to hide my face so he wouldn't see my face. That plan went out the window as soon as you knocked the head off with a hockey stick because you thought I was a real dinosaur," He scoffed and then Ro frowned. "Why exactly are you dressed as some sort of hippie?"
Dex gasped. "How dare you? How cannot recognize me as Michael Jackson?"
Ro shrugged which threw her into another round of hysterics. "You just shrugged. So you don’t like Beyoncé and you don’t like Michael Jackson! Let me guess, you hate puppies, don’t you?"
"They’re cute, I guess."
"You guess?" she raises her eyebrows.
"They slobber and pee on everything. I had to pet sit one time and the little devil chewed through half my shoes and socks! So, I don't hate puppies as long as they are away from me."
Dex guffaws loudly holding her stomach. "That’s hilarious!" She continues chuckling even when Ro turns his head in a grumpy pout. "I feel like buying a puppy right now just to see your reaction." Having enough of being made fun, Ro swiftly changes the subject, "So what happened with the Professor?"
Dex smirks leaning against the uncomfortable plastic chairs. “I chose to hide in the drama class since they were doing an early morning rehearsal, but the teacher wouldn’t let me in unless I had a role. So I said I am part of the AV group and..."
Ro frowns at her when he sees her guilty expression. "Dex what did you do?"
"I may have bumped the main lead with my camera off the stage and now I'm pretty sure she has a broken ankle and I had to hide in the prop and costume house to avoid an angry drama teacher and an angry professor who found me. I tried to disguise myself, but for some reason the students still recognized me" Dex said with a frown on her face as if she couldn't believe her flashy sequined suit and obviously fake mustache could have not hidden her true identity. Ro face palms, "Dex you will be the death of me." he groans.
"You’re totally right, I already see a grey hair in that red head of yours." Dex teases.
Ro gasp and covers his head in his palms to shield it from view. "No you don't."
Dex smiles. "Oh yes, I definitely do."
"Ms. Domingo, wipe that smile off your face and get in here. You too Mr. Marsh and be quick about it."
Ro and Dex lock eyes with each other. "Well he is in a great mood." Dex says with a bright smile as off just to spite the already livid principal. Ro sends her a warning glance and stands up from the chair, but he accidentally knocks it over with his tail. ˋSorry,ˋ Ro murmurs and picks up the seat.
